It's time for, 'that football guys' name to do the rounds again, before it disappears, till another sacking happens.
Much touted, never takes, then receeds into the mists, waiting for the next time and the cycle repeats.

Would be surprised if Potter took the Leicester job with the budget restraints.
With him being worth around 15 million he can afford to be picky about his next job. I think he'll hold out for West Ham.

If I was going to have a dabble it would either be Mark Robins or Lee Carsley.

Both based locally, both recently out of work & both play nice football which is obviously something the Leicester board want if they’ve sacked Cooper out of the blue.
Robins isn’t a bad shout, ex Leicester player, arguably ‘wronged’ at Coventry and clearly one of the ‘rocking horse shit brigade’ in that he’s a talented English manager.

@Hugo Rune’s conspiracy theory also looks to have some credibility as pleasant as Hove is, a return to the Midlands could see GP ‘going home’ to live in one of the more salubrious parts of Brum ( If there is such a thing)

I saw him in Hove Waitrose the other day wearing a brand new Canada Goose jacket. The price label was practically still on. He looked like a complete twat. Although that isn't hard for him in fairness.
Wearing a warm coat in cold weather makes you look a twat?

I can't see their supporters being particularly enamoured with a failed Chelsea manager though.
Well, they hate Nottingham Forest and appointed Cooper, so would it not be perfect if their next manager is 'and Chelsea'?

And after Potter is sacked, there's Moysie and Woysie on the horizon.

So was it on, or off? If it was off, was he carrying it around in his hand or something?

Going back to Steve Cooper, I don't know much about him, but the line seems to be that he's been 'harshly treated' by Notts Forest and now Leicester. Maybe he just wasn't the right fit, disruptive or there were other underlying issues. Who knows...?

Regardless of all of that, I'm sure he'll get another job in footall somewhere down the line soon enough.

Not sure they will see it that way - most fans from other clubs know how much of a basket case Chelsea have been since Boehly took over and Potter’s style of football will appeal to the West Ham fans

Which is why, I guess, that Leicester have moved early in getting rid of Cooper. They have sacked him because they are bringing someone else in quickly I suspect. I’ll be very surprised if it’s not Potter. I think the pressure of West Ham (after his Chelsea fail) is not what his career needs right now. He is still young for a manager. If he can save Leicester from the drop, he’ll start attracting better offers long term.
