His celebration of that goal said it all. He cares, it means something to him even though he's only on loan. I think he's been great, and was easily up there with Upson for Player of the Season.

Hope we keep him- I think Wolves will prefer to keep the momentum of their current squad & won't want the old school lot back so we should have a decent shot at it.

For a guy who isn't even our player, he shows more passion and desire to win than some of the others. If they all showed the desire and gave the effort Ward does I would seriously fancy our chances. Orlandi and Buckley are my main bug bares, neither of them have contributed nothing the last two games. Both big girls blouses, who you wouldn't want to take into the trenches with you...Ward was my player of the year before yesterday, purely for his level of consistency.

Have to say that Wardy's goal was taken like a striker, great control and finishing.

For all the comparisons with Bridge I have seen on NSC, in my opinion it is fair to say I would choose Ward any day. He has been fantastic for us and would be my player of the season by a kneck.

Wardy is contracted to Wolves until Summer 2015. In my view we could get him for half a mil. Wages wise, presumably we are paying most or all of this for his loan spell, therefore, let's sign him up and increase his wages by 10-15%. Ward would definitely come for more wonga, and I can't see wolves trying to renegotiate his contract, when they have already transfer listed him and treated him as one of the four scape goats of their relegation last term.

His wages are extremely high already, so why increase them? He's got just one year on high wages at Wolves; if he wants to play for us -- and I think he does -- then he needs to accept a longer contract on lower wages. Wolves will get rid of him given half a chance and probably won't even want a fee. If, for instance, he's on 20k a week at Wolves, off-loading him will save them a million.

That is like an additional £1 m to any fee that they quote for him for them to pocket but not for us, as we have a wages cap apoarently .which we wont exceed.

He suffered by comparison with Bridge but I think he's been our most consistent player this season - he's also got himself back into the RoI squad, which he stated was his reason for coming out on loan. He also links up extremely well with Kazenga down the left. Hope we can sign him

Story in the local paper today:

Express and Star: Stephen Ward issues plea for permanent switch away from Wolves

“Whatever happens will be done in the summer,” said Ward.

“I’m hopeful it’s not going to be my last game at the Amex for Brighton.

“It’s difficult. I’m contracted so there are a lot of negotiations and talks to go on behind the scenes that will not even involve me.

“I will leave that all to the powers that be in the summer.

“But I don’t have one negative word to say about this place and how this year has gone for me.

“It’s been a fantastic move for me, a real breath of fresh air in my career.”

Couple of Wolves ST holders I know are pretty certain that he is not in Jackett's plans so fingers crossed. Just have to hope that we are in a position to offer him something without having to wait for a managerial appointment.

Unless there is a lot of interest in him, is another season long loan not a possibility?

Essential em sort this out ASAP IMO . Sounds like we would beat any club outside the premier which sounds positive.

Would feel a bit of pressure of our needs if we can get him.

Assuming we're not paying all his wages, not only would a loan mean Wolves miss out on a fee, it means they'd have to pay some of his wages. I'm sure they'd much rather a small fee and no wages than letting him out on loan again.
