Stella Artois have launched their own cider...'Cidre'..it's on offer at the moment in Tesco as an introductory thing..

To me, it's better than the market leaders of Magners and Bulmers...thoughts?

Not tried it, but I can't stand Stella Artois. Used to drink it all the time but I've gone right off it these days.

Might give the 'Cidre' a whirl, I don't mind the odd cider now and then.

Not as nice as Magners for me, but worth a buy if they are the same price as I got them in Asda (£1).

For Albion fans up north who travelled down by train to Birmingham New Street for the game at Walsall you might have noticed the Stella Artois plant as the train wizzed past Burton on Trent.

drank four of those bad boys on the way to walsall - the first one tasted awful (this may have been as it was 9am) but once you've acquired a taste they are not too bad. taste more like the sort of cider you can buy on the continent than what we get here

wouldnt say it is as nice as magners of any of the mind altering real stuff westons and the like do, but it is nicer than strongbow. although this is, admittedly, not hard

They use Jonagold apples , if you're making your own cider these are the Smart Price apples in Asda

Not sure if I'd trust them to make cider, also, the market for cider is almost swamped now with choice.

Lets see what it does to peoples heads in the summer heat, it could end up being known as an Apple ASBO

I had some the other day and although I'm not a cider drinker as a rule I thought it was not too bad at all and a nice change from something that has to be served with a bucketload of ice to make it palatable.

I'm yet to try it but as a big cider fan no doubt I'll like it. Heard good things about it though.

Surprised Kopparberg hasn't been mentioned, drink of the Gods that stuff!

You can get EVERY stile of English cider so there really is no need to buy Belgian. It's still a shame that Merrydown closed down though :(

Only really drink magners or bulmers, can't stand lager at all! Taken a liking to Bulmers over Magners lately but not sure if there's even that much of a difference. Strongbow however, don't get me started is disgusting! I'm guessing it's inbetween Bulmers or Strongbow?

far far too sweet

it is however remarkably good as a first point when hungover or to drink at 7am
