That's weird, i have just come home with a 4 pack of this cider, £3.00 seems a bargain............it will never be as nice as a good bottle of red wine but fancied a change

To me it's an incredibly pleasant surprise...not as sweet as Bulmers/Magners erc and a bit drier...enjoy it.

Absolute pisswater. Bought a case of 8 pint bottles from Tesco as part of the cider haul for the past weekend. It's horrible, sweet, designed-to-be-drunk-over-ice-to-disguise-the-flavour muck, alongside the dreadful Magners and foul Bulmers.

Get involved in Westons, Aspall, Thatchers, Henneys and the like for a proper drop of cider.

(Both Sainsbury and Tesco own label 500cl bottles are made by Thatchers too.)

I'd imagine if you like Magners and similar shite, you'll like Stella Cidre.

That doesn't make it good however.

At last ... the FIRST post on this thread actually to mention something deserving of the name "cider".

I'm currently exploring a rather fine home-made "eau de vie", distilled from cider. Not at all bad, if drunk in moderation.

Magners/Bulmers/Gaymers is pretty piss poor in my opinion.

I'm all about Westons, Stowford Press, Aspall or a good old Scrumpy.

Gaymers shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Magners and Bulmers IMO. Goes in the same category as Brothers and Blackthorn, just cheapy shite.

Old English is an under-rated cider methinks.

Well, it's refreshing, but that's it, a little wishy washy not really up there amongst the classics. Kopparberg is quality for a foreign cider though

Continental Cider....! ! ! are you sure....when there are so many good British Ciders or Sussex Ciders come to that.

Try Oakwood bottled cider, or you have the Biddenden from Kent or Mr Whiteheads from Hampshire, you will pay more but am sure you will enjoy it more.

Not that keen on cider, and I don't rate wife beater. So it looks like adding up to one truly shit beverage. I'll swerve it I think.

Does the cider have the added "smack ya bitch up" chemicals ?

I've tried the stuff and came to about the same conclusion as you so I wont be drinking it again, Westons Organic cider is still the way to go for me.
