Naylor a day behind as usual
Naylor never seems to get any transfer news first. It must be very demoralising for him to be the chief Brighton reporter for the Athletic but no one at the club will give him a heads up & he clearly doesn’t have many or any contacts with the agents. He’s been in the business a long time but just seems like he doesn’t have a network of high quality contacts.

Just turned 19.

£22m+ is a lot to spend on such a young player. Let’s hope it’s a similar signing (in terms of value) to Baleba.

He could very well be on loan next season too. I suspect we’d like him to have a go at a higher level than the German 2nd before he gets a place in our squad.

That's not his job at the Athletic. He's there to write articles, not break transfer news. That's for Ornstein to do these days.

Might have something to do with the division of labor at the Athletic, Naylor has colleagues whose beat is transfers.

Andy Naylor is getting closer to retiring.
I'm not sure how hungry he is to hunt down the big stories when he can spend his Sunday with his grandchild.

I would expect a new name from The Athletic to be covering the Albion fairly soon.

At least he has less chance getting injured on loan. Avoids those dinner break muscles spasms and the ones so bad Fab can’t even reveal them.

Bloody hell, we’re on the verge of signing one of the hottest young talents going and people are furious about it?

Again FWIW. Hes tweeted several times today including confirmation of the Barco transfer, promoting his analysis of yesterday's defeat , and an Athletic piece about RDZ .
