The players do not deserve a lap of honour considering they've been shit for 80% of this season.

If the club want to thank Slade for what he has done and potentially keeping us up then they should give him a contract for next season and see what he can do then.

Only selected squad members should do a lap of honour , the rest can jog on.

Can I make a request aswell?
Firstly, I don't give a f*** whether the players do a lap of honour or not, but why should we keep off the pitch just so they can? We are (with any luck) going to finish 20th in League 1. Hardly worth celebrating majorly is it? Pitch invasion, yes, go for it. It's part of football and it will always happen. HOWEVER, can we please not be a bunch of mongs like Luton and run over to the away supporters if we win? Like the 8 year old chavs at Huddersfield aswell. That is all.

Not a chance. The pitch will get flooded with jubilant fans, and who can blame them - in fact I may well be one of them.

Then, if you hang around long enough, I'd expect an announcement to clear the pitch to allow the players back out for the lap of honour you crave.

Funnily enough you can stop yourself from running on the pitch. What exactly does running on to it do? Why can't you celebrate in or around your seat?

The ONLY man deservant of a lap of honour is our Russell. I'd suggest 100 laps of honour for the ridiculous achievement of getting us looking like a football team.

By and large, the rest of them have been an utter disgrace

Quite frankly this season has been such a crock of shit and the players have generally been awful. I therefore think a lap of honour of the players is nonsense.

However the least we deserve for watching this pile of shit is the right to strut our stuff on the Withdean turf, IF we stay up. So yes there should be a pitch invasion and I will be on there for sure.

Agreed! Also, would like to add, as i've stated on another thread, those who are worried about a points deduction should realise it wont happen! Pitch invasions are part of the game, and will happen at almost every final game/ home game of the season no matter where the club finishes. Huddersfield did it, and so will many other teams. Also, reading about last nights game, if anyone is going to be deducted points it will be northampton. Those fans were on the pitch for a different reason, simply to get at the Mk players and fans by the sounds of it, even throwing bottles at the ref! I understand the hatred from them towards Mk, especially given their league positions, but if anyone deserves a points deduction, it wont be us!

Right, I'm setting myself up for being a bit of a dummy here, but can someone explain this ongoing in-joke which, sadly, has passed me by?

Dear dummy, this in-joke as you call it, has been a proper nudge-nudger since Sam the towelheaded pate-patter and his sheepshagging nobsters were congratulating themselves too soon at an end-of-season game. It might have been v Stoke, not sure, but the tannoy announcer warned the fans to stay subdued several minutes before the end of a game they were winning, so the players could revel in their success. This was apparently a bit too soon to presume, as the opposition promptly made a soccerball score point to prevent the win and celebrations. :yahoo:

Wunderbar, und eine nicht-nicht fur Sam und der kleine Welshenscummer kuntz. :annoyed:

Can someone please explain the purpose of a pitch invasion? Bar not allowing Malcolm Stuart to say goodbye at the end and depriving Russell Slade the ovation he deserves for (hopefully) keeping us up I don't get it. You run on the pitch the players go off the pitch you stand around for a bit all billy big balls look at me I'm on the pitch and then what? Strikes me as a bit pointless

Some things are a given in Football.

A pitch invasion on the last game of the season if you have got promoted/just avoided relegation is one of them!
