No it's not. I doubt very much TB pays Barber £150k and then micro-manages him. There will be some delegation of responsibility and decision making.
In my experience of Chairman's relationships with CEOs a sensible CEO doesn't sneeze without speaking to the Chairman first.
Dear
On behalf of Tony Bloom, our board, and all of the club's staff, ...

We look forward to seeing you back at the Amex next month.
Kind regards,
Paul Barber
Chief Executive
I think last night entertainment was better than Downtown Abbey. Gus loves the camera and giving his opinion. Live by the media, die by the media, as it were. What goes round comes round springs to mind. I did find it quite amusing when he was saying he would love to still stay etc etc..Bit different to what he has been saying for last six months and after play off game....Be careful what you wish for eh.....He has bought this all on himself, 100% the man could have had it all, he just couldn't wait.Marlene
rather this statement didn't have to be made at all. We're still no closer to understanding why Gus is no longer our manager, which is the crux of everything
Some of you might be interested to know that I replied to today's Barber email, thanking him for it, and saying that I thought it was a good email, and that I and many other fans continued to have faith that the club was doing things professionally and ethically.
I got the usual immediate automatic reply from the marketing department. However, this was followed about ten minutes later by a personal email from Barber, thanking me for my email, and for my "support and kind words, which are very much appreciated".
I don't know whether that's being treated as a "fan" or as a "customer", and I don't much care. It does however speak volumes that he could be bothered to reply to an email so quickly from a fan that he doesn't know from Adam, at a time when he's probably got a fair amount of more important stuff on his plate.
And we won't unless disclosure is by mutual agreement or the case ends up in an Industrial Tribunal. These processes are, quite rightly, confidential. The club are doing everything they can to tell us everything they can without breaching confidentiality.
I just got the auto response too for a similar email I sent back, will be interesting to see if I get a reply later once the UK is awake and at work....

or the emails are answered by his PA?

I'm growing increasingly annoyed at Barber's use of "meantime" instead of "in the meantime" or "meanwhile".
