Just got back from a pretty full Market Hall cinema in Brynmawr......that was brilliant. I loved it.

Just back from the 7.30pm showing at Cineworld at the Marina and it wasn't even a quarter full which surprised me. Enjoyable with many nods to the fans and other films but with some silly bits too (inc aforementioned outside of the Falcon malarkey)

Saw it on Thursday night in a near empty Capitol in Horsham big surprise as all other SW films were near sellouts for first few days. Overall film was ok, not the worst but nowhere near the best

Nestling in green nowhere
Going in an hour with my obsessed 9yr old and indifferent 8 yr old girl and disinterested 11yr old. Should be good.

Saw it and utterly loved it. It might take a while to process it all but I'm having that up there with the very best of them.

I enjoyed it but agree that it will take time to process (and probably another watch). There was a lot going on.

Not convinced. 6/10 at best.

Bringing back Palpatine was a desperate move and made no sense.

Force ghosts can now have a physical impact.

You can now use the force to bring dead people back to life.

How did Lando bring an army of thousands in what seemed like 5 minutes?

What the **** happened with General Hux? Pointless and ridiculous.

The story and chemistry between Kylo Ren & Ray keeps the film from being a complete dud.

I saw it yesterday teatime. I thought it was too long, and predictable. Having said that it was reasonably enjoyable, but I wouldn't bother re-watching it at any time.

I Loved it, my 11 and 13 y/o kids loved it, And seemingly everyone else in there did too.
Nope, that's not relevant. It was rubbish, and what's more, you're all extremely uncool.

Including flipping over in the way that the falcon often does. No sign they climbed in side at all.
Wasn't there? We saw chewy sticking out the top of the Falcon to get them. Presumably the camera then cut to show the Falcon flipping over and zooming off, in which case there'd have been a time gap between the two.

To be fair the suggestion in the third prequel (I think) that the dark-side could be made to effectively bring siths back from the dead - well I guess that's where that element can be traced back to. It's easy to be harsh, especially when reading a love letter you didn't write - which is what this installment is I guess. Cheesy, plot hole filled (yeah), and possibly a bit indulgent (why not?), I enjoyed it for exactly the same reasons you didn't I suspect... Ultimately it's Star Wars, watching A New Hope now, well (by modern standards) it's not brilliant but its still huge fun - which is what makes Star Wars (at it's best) worthwhile. This Installment ticks that box for me.

Exactly. A lot (not all of course) of the criticisms of SW movies also apply to the originals. The originals had a lot going for them, but they weren't perfect either.

In a nutshell - I dont care, an enjoyable couple of hours away from the normality of life with my boys who were bouncing around in their seats pretty much all the way thro the film.

Interestingly, after reading about this element on here, i raised it with my boys, and they both said ' But you see Chewy reach up and pull them in, so thats ok..'

(i'm in agreement with Triggaaar ..It really must be Christmas time..)

I didn't see anything like that. I did look to see a shot of them even walking towards the hatch that they used to bring Luke in toward the end of Empire, but I didn't notice. But, as I've mentioned a couple of times, it was the midnight showing, so I may have missed it. Will definitely keep an eye out on future viewings.

Pretty sure I saw chewy sticking out the top.
