I didn't cry, but I did laugh three times (when I wasn't supposed to).

Standing on the Millennium Falcon when it's flying?!? I mean, come on!

It’s the force I tell thee

Loved it. I was 5 when the first film was released. The Rise of Skywalker came close to making me feel like I was that age again. It's so dense. Barely a quiet moment. It took this jaded cynic and turned me back into a child for a couple of hours. I've no doubt I'll be seeing it at least a couple more times on the big screen.

The issue for me and a lot of my generation, is that Star Wars created a lot of the movie clichés that exist today. So I've always seen the original trilogy as good movies, but not amazing. Hence why maybe that me and my generation dislike these movies so much is that they're so similar to the original trilogy.

Ah yes, that Isaac indeed.
I just found his extreme shift of confidence to despair and back again, all within 2 minutes, quite funny to watch.

He has cornered the art of the not very bright but good in fight in other films as well as star wars. I watched one a couple of Fridays back. He was in charge of an 'elite' special forces gang that had a helicopter with too much weight on it. Rather than do 2 trips, they flew over a mountain and... Well, you can guess the rest. All played with the emotional range of Jacob Rees-Mogg.

I thought it was just getting ready to go, and not exactly at full speed?

Saw it yesterday.

Probably the best JJ could stitch together after what Rian Johnson left him with

Can certainly tell Disney had no idea where this saga was going from the start , which is criminal really considering a. It’s Star Wars , b. What they paid for it !

I was however entertained

Can the people who go say roughly how full the cinemas are when they go, please?

I’m quite weird so therefore like the business aspect of the film industry. Some online (mostly America) are saying 4/5ths empty cinemas on one hand and full houses on the other. As a former original trilogy Star Wars kid, I’d like to know how “Rise” is doing in Sussex.

I hated it , my husband loved it , i think that's how it's going to be with this one , going to see Cats so no doubt it will be the same again but the other way round .

My cinema was full 76 seats including the 3 seater sofas .

Went to a packed midnight showing at the Brighton Odeon on Thursday.

Loved the film but my god the Odeon (the Odorous as I now call it) is a dump. We were in Screen 1. Grimy, smelly and blooding boiling in there.

I wish I had gone over to Worthing to the Dome or the Connaught now but the Odeon is where I saw the very first Star Wars with my now late dad and granddad back in 1978 so it seemed fitting to return.

I went to the Odeon's biggest screen at 11.40am on the day of release. There were about 10 people there.

Went to the 10:10 showing yesterday morning at the new Cineworld in Eastbourne, screen 1, huge screen, very clean because it's brand new (won't last never does). Holds 260, reckon there were about 70 people max in there.

Saw this morning in a near deserted screen 4 at the odeon.
I can take or leave Star Wars. But I enjoyed this. It’s not amazing but it does a job. It’s Star Wars, it was well made and kept me entertained.

One lad of about 14, on his own down near the front was loving it. He cheered and whooped a few times and was generally fidgety with joy. It cheered me to see someone enjoying it so much. He loved it.

Schools break up today so expect much busier screening from about 3pm today.

6/10

Did the 7.30am showing at a full BFI IMAX today.
Out of choice, I wouldn't do 3D, but some good moments with it, and didn't detract.
I Loved it, my 11 and 13 y/o kids loved it, And seemingly everyone else in there did too.

It was hovering, and then zoomed off seconds later.

Including flipping over in the way that the falcon often does. No sign they climbed in side at all. And it were two characters without force powers!

Can the people who go say roughly how full the cinemas are when they go, please?

The screening I was in was mostly full. There were some empty seats around, I'd say less busy than the Force Awakens midnight opening, but busier than most other midnight showings.
