Standard of driving in the UK

I am convinced it is as bad as it's ever been, and getting rapidly worse.

This is based on what I see on the road every day (2 1/2 hrs round trip); tailgating, lack of courtesy, aggressive and dangerous manouevres, hand gestures, swearing, excessive use of the horn, failure to indicate - the list is almost endless.

Basically people are increasingly driving more with their ego than their brain. Anticipation is a thing of the past.

The old joke used to be the further south you went in Europe, the worse the driving got. I think the Greeks would be quite at home on the streets of south London at the moment.

What say you all?

Couldn't agree more. I only do 32 miles a day (16 miles each way) on a bike. Most days I have to slow, stop or avoid someone who's dangerous/careless/agressive or lazy driving would otherwise cause an accident.

Much of it comes at roundabouts. Don't people realise the idea of giving way is to stop until AFTER the cars with priority have gone past.

I have noticed noone seems to bother indicating anymore. I am cut up almost everyday when driving back from Chichester, on the same roundabout!

Today some bloke decided not to indicate at all or brake right till the end and just stopped, now I managed to swerve out the way on my motorbike but only just had I been a car i would have been f**ked! And if there had of been a car in the other lane even as a bike i would have been f***ed! Kept a decent distance if I hadnt I wouldnt be here now!

Some nutter in a white van tried to overtake me whilst I was overtaking a slow lorry the other day. I was forced to pull back in whilst he forced his way past flashing his lights and sounding his horn. I then caught up with him later on the down the road as he got held up again in traffic and I watched him tailgate and dangerously overtake cars for the next few miles. Why do idiots like this not get caught by the police

Driving in South London is now like some sort of Playstation game. I think the reality of actually crashing your car has been lost in that part of the world.

Yes! The :censored: drift all over the place and don't even bother using mirrors etc. :nono: Twice I have had to take serious evasive action to avoid a scrape. Twice they were big 4x4s.

i find the worse thing about the same run to Arundel is the number of tractors causing all sorts of chaos. They should not be allowed on there in rush hour and should be only allowed to travel before of after this

Also , in the am , have you seen that tosser on the really low level bike which he is sitting on to peddle, the amount of snarl ups that thing causes. . . . he also gets the vigorous wank signs out the window

Too true! Its an 'OVERTAKING LANE', therefor if there isn't a car in the lane to your left...... f*** OFF INTO THAT LANE!

I must undertake at least 7 or 8 Rover 75s, BMWs, 4x4s, ect, ect every time i come along the A27 between Brighton and the Kingston roundabout just because they insist on sitting in the outside lane behind 10 cars when there's only 2 in the left lane. Pillocks! :dunce:

he had lights but they didnt work , suprisingly I didnt realise until the 3rd time I had to break hard to avoid hitting him. I just assumed the previous 2 times I'd been in a daze + must of not seen the lights
