Do they pick some of these numbers out of a hat, or are there rules? Some of these seem a bit random, but I'm sure there's a story behind them all..

Those squad numbers released in the article aren't correct for the DS players. The numbers worn in training are the squad numbers for this season, the club would not issue a player with their training kit with one number and then have to re-issue with a new set. The correct numbers are (and this is from one of the two kit men)

My son picked number 10 to put on the back of his new shirt (his age) and asked who had that number. Person in shop said no-one yet, but had been asked to print a number 10 pro shirt the day before (no name on it though). This was last Friday, so maybe a new signing soon.
