Spurs ask to replay West Ham game

The so-called sanctity of games being played at the same time on the last day is a fairly recent creation, anyway.
And the FA seemed to willingly waive this, when they offered a two-hour delay on Sunday.
Then Sepp Blatter suggested Monday night he'd be happy with any game being postponed up until May 15th.
And now La Liga has been allowed the schedule the postponed Barca-Sevilla game until May 20.
The postponement issue should be a, er, non-issue.
West Ham were happy to delay 24 hours.
Now "a majority" of Premiership clubs have provided written backing to Spurs' calls for a replay.
18-1, I would vaguely guess...

The circumstances just shouldn't have been dictated as quickly and slapdashedly as they were. Whether the Premier League chairman was ensconced in his Highbury seat or not, entirely irrelevant.

Mind you, of all the doom-laden scenarios I ran through in my mind, the entireity of last week, this was certainly not one of them...

I suppose it's us fans to blame. We were prepared for the Gooner Champions League win. Or the last-minute winner by Zamora or Etherington.

We just allowed the whole food poisoning thing to emerge on our blind side, catch us entirely unawares.

At least the footballing gods are becoming a little more imaginative in their cuuuntings...

Abort, retry, fail
It could easily be done. I was working in the Royal Albion hotel, as a holiday job and Exeter City visited. I could have easily slipped laxatives into their food. I didn't, we won and they had 10 players booked.

Very odd that these players suffered 'food poisoning'. One wonders if it was laxatives. Food poisoning takes much longer to develop and it is not necessarily the last thing you eat.

Exceptional circumstances should be taken into account, when 10 or so are ill. I would want all clubs to be treated in the same manner.

Shouldn't have had an overnight stay in a hotel for a 3 MILE away trip, should they. Dickheads.

It all comes back to this! Its the first thing I thought of when i heard it and to me Tottenham should have thought about it. As somebody else also said, why let everyone eat the same dish anyway? Its plainly obvious that if there was summin wrong with the dish then they'd all get it!

Although i must admit i'm sure the game wouldn't have been played if it wasn't the last day of the season!

Of course Pre clubs said they will support Spurs, they know the Authorities will say no and they don't want any adverse blame.

I do and I find it funny - to be honest I think its just our chairman trying to look like he is doing something and letting the fans know where he is and what he is thinking.

Could Mr Knight take note>?

What of a pointless whining letter? I doubt it.

Look a bit deeper. I very much doubt Spurs think the game will be re-played. I suspect the intention is to raise what action the FAPL did or did not take in relation to rule E13.4.

Can we ask the league to replay all our games again this year "just in case" we can beat them this time.

What an absolute joke

On NSC for over two decades...
So Tottenham think it is an Arsenal conspiracy? Perhaps they'd also like to replay their last day fixture against Southampton from '78 then.

*awaits correction for historical inaccuracies*

Spurs 'sue' talk is all hot air and would get laughed out of any court in the land, and they will never get a replay.

To prove they have in some way been denied £10million by the hotel/Premier League they would have to prove beyond any doubt it was the lasagne (possible).

Then they have to demonstrate that they would definitely have beaten West Ham (impossible).

If Arsenal beat Barca, presumably their case falls anyway.

Then they would have to prove they would definitely have won the Champs League qualifier to get to the group stage (again, impossible).

The best they can hope for is an out of court settlement with Marriott who won't want a damaging court case over the food negligence, for which Spurs have a case.
