yeah he is. Apparently had a hip replacement recently and has been playing gigs from a large throne on stage. Dunno if this is still the case?

My mate saw Springsteen at the Emirates last year and said he kept getting up from a seat and doing his bit then having a rest so good on the old boy.

In fact he has just played - amazing stuff.

Springsteen is class and great interaction with the crowd

Love the way on the radio they get a reporter to tell us over the top of The River what a beautifully passionate song it is. Trying to keep up with this set on TV and radio is tricky work. Anyone know if he's donw Tenth Avenue Freeze Out yet?

I saw him in Toronto about 6 weeks ago and he never sat down once in a near-three hour set as far as I remember.

There do seem to be some rather large minders with him when he goes near the crowd.

I believe Nils Lofgren has also has a hip replacement. Makes me feel young!

Is Neil Young not real music then, way more variety in his music than Springsteen imo? Wonderful to see him with the audience in the palm of his hand at the end of Rocking in the Free World, one of the all time great rock songs. A very varied set from a man who came so close to being killed by an aneurism a few years ago yet can still rock with the best of them.

I was also impressed with Steve Stills guitar playing although it's a shame his voice is nearly shot now maybe one of the reasons that CSN didn't do Suite Judy Blue Eyes.

Springsteen was absolutely fecking superb. He was on from 10pm - 12.40 am. We only saw from 11.15pm unfortunately.

I was a big fan of Nils Lofgren in his early solo career, and saw him headline at The Dome and later on at The Vic (?) in London.

Also met him once, trying to sneak in to a better area for The Stones (at Wembley I think it was, and we got turned away by security). He is a really tiny bloke, no more than 5 foot tall I reckon. Excellent guitarist though.

Trouble with long shot filming is too many banners and flags in the way !

I was thinking that whilst watching it last night. If you were further back in the crowd you'd bell well f***ed off...
"Did you get to see many bands?"
"No but I saw some pretty flags"

Didn't watch any of Springsteen, never really a fan, but have heard loads of people raving about his set. I was glued to the Specials on Friday night, thought they were superb and it took me back maybe 20 years or so to a time when Britain was very different and the healthy mix of black and white wasn't welcomed in some circles...maybe, following recent elections, their time has come again.

Have seen a few other bits and pieces, Maximo Park, Kasabian, Franz Ferdinand and of course Lily Allen...who was spellbinding, or maybe it was just her outfit!

I have always thought it a little selfish when you see a girl sat on the shoulders of some bloke, thus impeding the view of people stood behind...tough shit if you are only 5ft 2ins tall, stand on the ground with everyone else!

"Did you get to see many bands?"
"No, but I did see the arse of some bird about a foot from my face!"

I'm not much of a fan either but every person, and I do mean every single one, I've spoken to who has seen him live rates him as one of the best live performers they've see. Can't argue with that really.

Indeed you can't argue, I didn't watch it because I was doing something else, regardless of my taste in music...might try to catch some of his set on i-player to see what all the fuss was about!

Yep, people on shoulders and banners that aren't on those long poles must be a mare for people behind.

The trouble with Springsteen is he has set himself such a high standard.

Some set for a block who is 59 I believe.
