As with many Bond films it is about 30 minutes longer than it needed to be but overall an enjoyable film.
Seems reasonable to me, that 'wheelchair' ticket really comes into its own during the car chases.Holy shit, £16.95 ??
I paid £6.40 at Worthing.
. The best Bond themes are subtly echoed throughout the entire film in the score, worked into scenes as a reminder, and they become genuinely memorable. So it was no surprise to hear NOTHING of this theme during the film - probably a blessing I suppose, but an indication of how poor and indistinctive it was. And the opening credits were nothing special..
I was thinking about seeing this tomorrow. Just checked out the info. Uhm. Ram it. REALLY??!!

It's repeated during his SEXY TIME in the film.
I pay £16.90 a month for the cineworld unlimited card and can see as many films as I like. A single ticket is about half of that, so only need to see two a month to break even. £16.95 for one ticket is just ridiculous.
Oh. Completely passed me by, I must've been distracted. I couldn't hum that theme tune right now if my life depended on it - totally forgettable.
As an aside, that was the first time I'd been to the Worthing cinema, and I was quite impressed. The auditorium was much larger than I thought it'd be, and being allowed to take your BEER through into the seats was a welcome bonus. Liking those balcony seats around the sides as well, I might see if I can get up there next time I go.
We saw it there as well. Lovely cinema that's been restored with love and attention
Good, but not great.
Waltz was an excellent villain, his part was well written with just the right amount of articulate, detached malice you knew he would bring to the role. He's always the same - whether it be the Jew Hunter in Inglorious Basterds, Dr Schultz in Django, and now Oberhauser, he just transports the same schtick to every character, which should be a weakness, but he carries it off so well that (for me) he gets away with it. He's just very watchable.
Daniel Craig just reinforced for me why he IS the best Bond, because he carries off that ruthlessness and barely suppressed violence so convincingly. He truly is one tough mofo, in a way that the likes of Brosnan and Dalton couldn't even begin to carry off. The punch-up on the train was Bond brutality at its best.
Weaknesses - it really didn't need to be 2.5 hours. Too much of it was at night (maybe its me, but I love seeing the major action scenes in broad daylight, there is always so much more colour and vibrancy on the screen). And the Bond theme - dear god, that Sam Smith DIRGE. And the opening credits were nothing special.
Overall, I keep coming away from these quite entertained, but just wanting to watch Casino Royale again. They set the bar so high with that one that these are still floundering in its wake. But taken on its own merits, Spectre is a good Bond film. I just hope Craig comes back for one more dance and we get another GREAT one out of him.
And incredibly reasonable pricing. £6.40 for the ticket, £3.50 for a pint. That's a movie and a pint for less than a TENNER. Outstanding.
You NEED to let Casino Royale go!!!
Watch Licence to Kill again. Thats really brutal and Dalton is an excellent Bond, the world wasn't ready for a "gritty" Bond back then having had years of Moore. Connery, Craig, Dalton, Moore/Pierce, Lazenby.
Most opening credits on bond films are boring tbh.
Is it just me or does anyone else peed off by the fact that inflation is supposed to be nil but people talk about £3.50p a pint as being a great deal.
