Not sure how he got out but Machan made a very useful 47 runs before being dismissed.
Taylor now also on a run a ball... worrying.
This is shaping up to be a decent match.

Machin is one of those players that can take the game away from the opposition.
However, last year he showed an inability to adapt his game to the conditions and kept getting out trying to hit it out the ground.

Whatever Nash did in the winter has worked!

Lower standard for sure, but his concentration seems to be much better so far. Those 20's off of 20 balls he was getting last year were so frustrating.

Which will be down to the quality of bowling.
Also the fact there is actually a batting coach at the club now.
Finally the wicket at Hove no longer seems to be a minefield.

Do they still use a different ball (with a more prominent seem) in the second division? I remember this used to cause problems for batsmen at this level.

I think they do.
Was it not something stupid like the second division used the Duke Ball as do the national side, but the first division did not.
