Is the conduit /pipe between the house /garage above ground or buried?
Has your chap identified whether it's a single cable to the garage DB Or a pair?
By pair I mean 2x twin and earth Or a single cable twin and earth flat either white or grey outer
Or alternatively being its in a conduit
3x single cores or 6
likely black red and green /yellow
When the mcb trips what is plugged into the sockets comprising that circuit?

The cable is buried under the front garden
He had the cover off the box and did some tests but I didn't look at the wiring myself so don't know.
The garage just has a freezer plugged in and sometimes the golf cart batteries. He tested the socket and the extension lead I plug in for the golf batteries. The downstairs house circuit has a computer/TV/humax/phone chargers/a few lights etc. 16 plug points in total according to the certificate
