bloody hell, look at the midfielders they have in their squad, they are literally taking the piss

Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Jose Reina (Liverpool), Victor Valdes (Barcelona); Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Alvaro Arbeloa (Real Madrid), Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Jordi Alba (Valencia), Raul Albiol (Real Madrid), Nacho Monreal (Malaga); Xavi (Barcelona), Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Santi Cazorla (Malaga), Javi Martinez (Athletic Bilbao), Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona); David Villa (Barcelona), David Silva (Manchester City), Fernando Torres (Chelsea), Fernando Llorente (Athletic Bilbao), Juan Mata (Chelsea), Jesus Navas (Sevilla).

what takes the ultimate piss is that david silva is possibly the best player in england right now, would WALK into the england team and probably be our best player

he doesn't even always start for spain

They have some fantastic players. What a squad. Oddly I don't think David Villa gets enough attention. Raul was some player but the Spanish showered him with adulation. Villa is even better but doesn't seem to get the lime light so much. Probably from being at Valencia so long.

But Barca have a cup game to prepare for and have asked for their players to be excused.

We're gonna smash'em 4-0, Bobby Z hat-trick

Here
Not many big 'ol boys in there ( a la 98% of your average english team) either - all diminutive, well balanced, intelligent and skillful players

Like everyone I always want England to win but part of me wants us to get a battering against Spain and we take a long hard look at the state of our game and national side. I'm tired of the same old excuses after another limp performance where we've either just snuck a win or a dire draw against lowly opposition.
The national team needs a Gus style football revolution, or at the very least a manager that speaks the same language and can be understood and inspire.

We will win this 1-0 ffs and we'll once again go to a major comp as second favourites or something stupid and the cycle will begin again. I think we need to take a tonking today if we are to progress in the long run.

Got a feeling England will edge it 2-1. absolutely no pressure on the players as nobody expects them to win. We normally play our best in these circumstances. Also as noted above expect Barca players to be rested.

Mata is another one: outstanding in English football this season, can't get a regular place in the Spanish side.

They could field a second XI that would batter us. Well, if Torres could find some form.

I hope we get smashed in a heavy defeat and that mumbling clown Capello walks as a result, also I find it hard to like any of the England team many of whom seem like rather nasty unlikeable characters. I stopped caring about England last year in South Africa after they minced around the pitch like a bunch of pussies and let everyone down. It will take a massive amount of positive PR and good football before I ever give a shit about them.

Santi Cazorla is apparently the heir to Xavi in the Spanish national team, so hoping he gets on and we get a chance to see him play a bit today.
Really? Thought he was a winger/attacking midfielder whenever I've seen Villarreal, not particularly young either. If anyone I'd imagine it's Thiago Alcantara being dubbed Xavi's successor. (Who incidentally isn't even in the above squad, along with Pedro Rodriguez. Unbelievable. :lolol:)

I just read this in the paper. Very interesting and intelligent stuff. His understanding of football is very deep and broad. Contrast this to John Terry when he was interviewed about Chelsea's woes last season and he paused, and said nothing more than "we've got to man up."

 well, there you go
