There is no way that if they lose every game they will stay up !

On a serious note though I don't think Lambert will be allowed so much room to run into once the prem clubs see how much power he has.

they wont lose every game playing like that not a chance

Back in Sussex
Saints raised themselves for their Cup Final, Adkins bottled it and they lost.

Wigan last week is more representative of the scraps they need to win and they flunked that too.

Agreed, they are in for a long season.

Not sure letting Sharp go was a good move either.

In some respects for new prem teams, these games are the easy ones for the players to raise their game in! Its the West Brom, West Ham and Norwich games where the big results matter! Just cant see them staying up at this stage (albeit very early yet :lolol: )

Arsenal away next - lose that one and they will be adrift

Ha then Villa, Everton and Fulham! Masybe a point from west ham and then lose to Spurs and they will be as good as down

Adkins interview, sounds like a broken record, positives blah blah, engage the football blah blah.

I actually feel sorry for Saints players and fans, but their manager let them down badly there. Taking off Lallana and especially Lambert? After he was putting Ferdinand and Vidic in all sorts of trouble? I can't recall do Prado holding the ball up once, Lambert would have done that without breaking sweat.

They were robbed, by their own gaffer. Adkins is way out of his depth at this level, and sinking a team that should be doing well with the talent and work rate they have.

Stranger things have happened. Oddly, this rumour about Adkins being fired keeps cropping up. One of the papers today suggested the Southampton board were having to deny an interest in Harry Redknapp. Would seem highly unlikely to be, especially given his past history with them and Pompey, but equally strange is the fact they apparently felt it warranted a denial to the media. Smoke, fire?

I'm not sure the fans would be keen on 'arry coming back, there's a sizeable contingent who hate him with a passion

Adkins is another Warnock, great for championship and league 1 but not tactically good enough for the prem.

He's good at assembling a powerful robost side and motivating them but that will only get you so far.

To be fair they have had two of the tougher games coming very early, hardly the time to panic they have only lost to City and Utd by the odd goal.

Don't really care much for this fake rivalry some have on here with soton- i personally hate Palace and that's about it.

i feel sorry for their fans today, adkins is a muppet who f***ed it up but they have been impressive against the two manchester clubs - obviously the issue for them is they can't be losing at home to the Wigan's.
