Whilst I’ve commented above about the nature of todays events, ie going down without any kind of fight as stated on Sky, age has taught me to now just concentrate on the Albion football wise ( apart from a secondary allegiance to Worthing) so by the start of Eurovision it will be Nathan who? , and not a second thought for the slightly smaller club down the coast

Apart from the car crash interview on MOTD which destroyed any relationship he might have had with his players.

I think...If Forest stay up then Southampton's relegation now means that there will be only be 8 or 9 other clubs in the PL who's current run in the top flight is longer or started before Albion's (23/24 is our 7th season , starting from 17/18)
- Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Palace, Man United, Chelsea, and West Ham.
Newcastle have a equal streak (came up with us), and one or possibly two of Leicester and Everton are going down if Forest stay up.

I always enjoyed it when everyone referred to him as Atkins.

I had little interest in Stains (apart from that absurd draw in 78 that kept us in Div 2) till Atkins started gobbing off.

A brief titter at the relegation is all I can muster, however. On the other hand, if Everton join them....

Lavia, Livramento, Walker-Peters, Ward-Prowse are the only players there of value in my opinion. Particularly Lavia, but he is way out of our price range with Manchester United, Liverpool and even PSG said to be sniffing about.

Losing a southern club is always disappointing for the travelling fans but I had no sympathy whatsoever when, the BBC cameras scrolled to what looked like four nasty pieces of work and one of them giving a V-sign to the camera. Nice. No doubt he'll put it on his Facebook page when he gets home. Sums up their fan base.

Hope they stay out of the Premier League for a long time. Soulless ground in a now tough Championship division. Pompey away in the first round of the Carabao Cup?

Just watching the scenes on Sky, got me thinking, have we ever gone down in this fashion, almost without a whimper?

From memory only 86/87 or 91/92 would come close, but there were serious financial issues going on behind the scenes which we knew nothing of, and in 95/96 anarchy had broken out, and there were far bigger issues than football for us all to see.

Nathan Jones’s appointment effectively Saints EPL resignation letter?

Maybe Ward-Prowse would fancy a move along the coast?

Was he ever at St Mary’s with Lallana ?

I think JWP still has England ambitions, dead in the water if he came here

Buy back clauses are nearly always “first refusal” on a player, whereby the club benefitting from the clause is entitled to match an accepted offer. For example, if he had a buy back amount of £40m, and Tottenham bid £35m and Southampton accepted, then they are obliged to inform Chelsea, who can match the deal.

It’s then up to the player who they join.

That’s a really good question and not one I know the answer to. Hopefully someone will.
We like to re look at players we’ve scouted before and so I’m really hoping we make a bid for this guy. Fits our model perfectly imho
