This result can clearly be disregarded. Michael Vaughan's comments that KP should be in the England World Cup T20 team, merely on the strength of scoring loads of runs in T20, has clearly upset the dressing room and made it difficult for them to bat.

Hmmm. I think you're being a little mischievous there. The series is won, the players have subconsciously dropped 5% and it shows.

I heard that Pietersen text Rabada and told him to bowl fast and try and hit the top of off stump.

Mr Vaughan has turned into a right media whore, I cringe every time he makes a comment.
He is best mates with Piers Morgan, who also keeps banging the drum about KP.
But maybe their persistent whingeing is strengthening the MCC's resolve, if so keep it up chaps.

Clearly not as closely as you, but I did read that " Jonny Bairstow became the first England wicketkeeper to have 20 dismissals in a four-match series" plus a current batting average of 86.25 !

What have I missed?

Missed Amla and DeVilliers in the first test; Amla (again) and Bavuma in the second (both went on to get a ton); Amla (yet again) and Cook (who went on to get a ton) in the fourth.

His batting has been fine: it was the wicket-keeping part that I highlighted

Boys have got to learn not to be big time Charlie's after winning a test series.

Yes, test series win is a great achievement, but get your heads right for the next test, don't treat any test match as a rubber.

Perhaps it's a good thing, lets these young players know they've still got a lot of weaknesses to iron out.

Too many of the England players didn't give a sh*t in this match, at least when it got difficult. Far too many loose shots and lack of application, especially in the 2nd innings.

Although we've won the series, there are a number of questions / issues to answer / resolve.

Which means, there's loads of room for improvement. :)

But, well bowled Rabada - at only 20 years of age, he could be a true great in Test cricket, and I guess 1-day cricket as well, as he looks dangerous all the time.

Second best match bowling figures by a South African bowler, apparently. That is some achievement for someone not long out of school. A very bright future beckons, I hope.
