Sounds like we played well even if we lost.

From the sounds of it, we played well. May be if we get a couple of defenders in January things might change, those 2 goals did us.

Little bit dissapointed but I do feel we are slowly making positive steps forward. We did not play like this under Slade.

I honestly cant see no differance between Slade and Poyet at the moment and if you say were making positive steps forward they why have we lost yet again at home?

Are you being serious? f*** sake you didn't even go to the game so it wouldn't be possible to 'see' the difference.

How can we play as well as we did against Southampton, then not repeat it, whos to blame the players or manager

To be fair, it doesn't really matter. The facts are that we are have not improved on our points to games ratio since Slade left, and we are still making the same mistakes as we were under Slade.

Progress = points, whether you went to the game or not.

This isnt Poyets first game though, I didnt go tonight but I know that the team hasnt changed since Slade left!

Maybe, just maybe, it wasnt all his fault?

Just got back and I actually thought that other than the first 15 mins we were excellent. Both Crofts and Murray missed from 6yrds out, Forster put one over the bar and the keeper saved 2 Bennett free kicks, it just wasn't our day. I actually feel pretty positive despite the loss.

Well did the person who started this thread go to the game?
I was at Exeter and that was no differance to the Slade era and by judging from the phone call i got from my mate who went he cant see no differance as well!

So that says that the players are to blame and they should be ashamed of themselfs.
If i performed badly week in week out at work ill be facing the sack, but football players no they will get paid no matter what. Should bring in a performance based pay

Oh I think you'll find most players have quite a bit of PRP in their contracts these days, but not as much as should be I agree. And yes I was having a pop at the players, because successive managers (Adams, Slade, and now Poyet) cannot seem to get this lot to follow basic instructions, and it's getting tiresome.

Well you'd be wrong. Disorganised poor positioning and many players have a very poor first touch. Once Dickinson and and Cox game on we had some nice intricate passing, but by then we really needed to hoof it in to the box

We played ok-ish for 70 mins. For the first 20 we were absolutely crap. I'm sick and tired of seeing us lose. It's as though Southampton never happened.

Agents are the biggest problem if players were on a very low low flat rate and got paid for wins, goals scored, clean sheets, player performance they might just try harder

I thought we played relatively well. There was not a gulf of difference in the two teams, despite Colchester and Brighton being 4th and 20th respectively.

Sadly, we were slow out of the traps AGAIN and gave them the perfect headstart.

Why the f*** were our ballboys recycling the ball so quickly for Colchester, particularly when we were down to ten men?!

Apart from McNulty the whole defence is nowhere near the standard. Both centre backs are weak as piss. How Virgo can't get in I do not know.

If we don't spend on defenders in January we are certs to go down.

I won't mention Navarro.!!
