Time we had a change anyway, yesterday's effort was abysmal.

Bet your wife/partner is a stunner?

I'm only 14 but I know what my dad has done in his Gulls Eye, Surf and BBC times, but its easy for all the faceless twats to come on and have a pop at him.

how many of you fronted belotti up?

Not many.

Harty is a Brighton fan through and through but a broadcasting bore. He has nothing fresh to say and spouts his opinions with the same words week in, week out. Plus the same callers. How boring is frigging Soraya? Time for a change.

FFS give it a rest. Your father has arguably given out a hell of a lot more than he has received. If he is willing to - pronounce players are not good enough for a certain level and backtrack when they phone up, accuse people (using license fee payers money) of not boycotting games and supporting Bellotti with no evidence whatsoever just because they disagreed with him on here, misuse his newspaper column to attack people on here rather than replying on here and, in my opinion, started the ball rolling on the best commentator SCR has ever had feeling that he had to leave etc. etc. etc. - then he must be able to take it back.

No-one doubts or questions his support for the club or his part in all matters Bellotti et al. But are you seriously suggesting that no-one can question anything he says or does and everyone has to bow down. I gave up listening ages ago because it was becoming amateur hour. I went to collect a takeaway yesterday and found the radio still tuned from pre match. I heard 2 minutes which entailed talk about jumpers and "I was right all along wasn't I" - swiftly followed by my reaching for the off button. Myself and others don't like the style. Others love it which is fine. If the BBC are happy then that is up to them. Majority rule and all that. But the one thing Ian Hart definitely does not have is immunity from criticism. You cannot take part in fanzines, newspaper columns and radio shows where you attack others and not accept any negative feedback in return.

You lot dont seem to get it. Harty is opinionated. He hosts a radio programme where callers PHONE IN to have thier say on the games, and whether or not they agree or disagree with Ian. If he sat on the fence or agreed with everything the callers said, then it would be a very boring broadcast.

I for one hope Ian stays, as he IS the voice of saturday afternoon football in Sussex, and could not imagine it with anyone else. His opinions divide people into phoning in, making the short debates a very good listen. Not only that, his character comes over as superb.

HARTY IN:clap:

Its a sad day if Harty is leaving the show. He is a LEGEND and an excellent host imo. I would imagine he is fed up with all the snipers and moaners having a pop and trying to bring him down. He is probably uneasy and has to watch his p's and q's now to a ridiculous extent after the absurdly blown up " Lickergate ". The fact he gets tense when someone says " bloody " which to me in not even a swear word shows he is worried about ANYTHING going wrong.

He is and has been an excellent and worthwhile addition to the overall Saturday experience and it will not be the same without him.

It's time for a change.

Would be nice if Hart could guest a couple of times a season, but the whole programme needs a freshening up. That woman who reads the texts needs removing from the airwaves, fast!

Disagree. His character doesn't come over as superb. At least not to everybody. If you want a shock jock type radio presenter then fine but then let's not pretend that it's all about the fans and their opinions. In truth its a sideshow to the "Ian Hart show". The casual racism and belief that a donation to charity excuses any faux pas is another. You also appear not to have a very good imagination as others have done the phone-in and done a pretty good job without the need for trying to be controversial.

In fact, re-reading your post parts of it makes no sense whatsoever. If it's truly a fan's phone-in as you say then it's very unlikely that the callers will have identical views. You're more likely to get a wider range of opinions than if you have 2 minutes of callers then 5 minutes every time of Ian Hart.

Have you considered that the reason there are the same tedious callers on e.g. Suraya because Harty puts off other people from calling.

Good luck to Ian, I'm sure it's not as easy as some people make out to host a phone-in but perhaps with all that's gone on this season - "towelheads", "lickergate", the Micky Adams must stay debacle, the drunken rant - it's time to move on.

Surely this is exactly why the phone in with Harty is so good.

I'm leaving this now. If you think that racism, a damn good BBC commentator being sacked, phoning up the show whilst pissed etc etc etc are the hallmarks of someone who is so good then we'll have to agree to disagree.

Ian phoned in as a fan on his day off.

Ian phoned in as a fan on his day off.

And that makes it alright because..?

I thought was a very low point for Harty. This is just my opinion but smacked of someone who couldn't bear not to be in the limelight telling everyone what he thought. The fact that he hadn't even been to the game that day but felt the need to go off on one kind of strengthens that belief. Just my point of view though.

I take racism seriously if the person is a racist. Harty is not a racist.

Harty has apologised about this already.
