Yep... the queue stretches around the block for wealthy Brighton supporters desperate to thrown good money after bad. I just wish Dick Knight would listen

That Tim,is 100% spin the club and its loyal lickers spin year after year...tight is a control freak and he will not give up his hold on the club...he should of gone a few years ago

Just wondered like but how you think that Dick Knight has a "hold on the club" exactly?
He has been elected Chairman by the Club Board (who run the Club), this has been ratified by the Club shareholders (who own the club) and he will have periodocally come up for re-election.
If a company's shareholders are unhappy with a Chairman then it's easy to get rid of him/her (unless they're a majority shareholder), you just vote them off at the AGM or call an EGM and do it.
Btw Dick Knight is not a majority shareholder, indeed the individual Board members don't own 50%+1 of the BHA shares between them.
Would you have him step down as chaiman, director or shareholder, or all three?

Everywhere
I think some people just expect there to be a never ending pot of money. The basic premise of it is that we as a club are a business and businesses have to be run economically, with gates of 5-6,000 we don't have huge streams of money pouring into the pot.
I do see peoples frustrations with the lack of players coming in but if you look around the country not a lot of business is being done. Afterall why would teams want to let players leave halfway through the season.

Money is not the main issue the club have said the cash is there to sign players, the problem is getting players to the Shitdean Stadium, and can you blame then.

Good job we're not run as a business or we would be in serious trouble. Losing millions EVERY year and only kept afloat by a band of white knights, whose public face is the chairman.

another day another tedious 'where are the signings' thread.

Perhaps you should look through the list here and see how few league one transactions have taken place so we are not alone

BBC SPORT | Football | Transfers - January 2009

In may come as a shock to many but we are far from the most attractive option in this league let alone across all divisions.

The only players we are likely to get at this stage is players nobody else wants. If a player is half decent his agent will be using the whole of the window to broker the best possible deal for his player hence why historically most of the big deals are done in the last day.

Yes we need players in now but due to the reasons above I can't see us bringing anyone in until the end of the window.

having recently spoken to someone close to the management I can assure you there is plenty going on ...whether we get the players is a different matter..

Did you expect any different??

Now is not the time to panic buy, it's time to take stock and carefully choose the signings who can move us up the table. I have no doubt that they are all working non-stop behind the scenes and it isn't for the lack of trying we haven't got anyone in. Besides I think we're only 2 possibly 3 away from having a very strong side.
