Audi is nice, you seem to have a nice choice there, avoid the BMW as you'll probably get an 8 track stereo and wind down windows for the same price as the Honda, VW & Audi. What is real nice on the Audi is the DSG gearbox.

Doesn't anyone like the Honda?

It looks great and it's quick - 0-62 in 8.6 seconds.

I think the Honda looked great as a concept car, then when it came out it was striking, but I think it has dated already.

All of those are going to be terribly expensive to insure.

Have you thought about the Honda Jazz? Low insurance, surprisingly roomy and does a sprightly 85mph downhill. Comes in some fantastic colours too.

Does anybody else need any car tips?

Not sure you'd be able to find a pink one, on the seafront past Lancing on the way to Worthing it seems there is a house with 3 pink Honda Jazz's - surely Honday wouldn't have made more than three in that hideous colour?

Are you considering new or second hand? For the first three years I'd wager the servicing of the BMW and Audi would probably be ridiculous. The Skoda is probably the best value for money and the Golf or Audi I reckon would be the most fun. The civic is the most economical (and slowest) the BMW seemed tiny when our friend turned up in theirs.

Is it an old folk's home? Only retired people seem to drive them. My father in law has one in what I can only describe as baby-shit green.

I think it two young girls and their mother to be honest! They have pink fluffy dice, pink seatbelt protectors, pink seat covers and all manner of what can only be described as pink bling...and PNK number plates....Its near the beach car park roundabout and the MOT service centre and car dealer on Lancing seafront...Theres loads of B&B's along there so maybe they own a pink B&B?? Bizarre...

New, company car so no problem with insurance.

Company car? For loads of miles or just short journeys? I'd go the Golf or the Audi then...Audi's more comfortable for long journeys, Golf more fun for short blasts!! Watch the tax though on both of them...

Ah, company car, need to think about emissions, diesel is best, but bear in mind the tax is calculated on new purchase price and emissions. The Quattro Audi might be a bit heavy on that. Get them to give you an equivalent car allowance, then you'll save a bit.

Oh, and my Audi A6 2.0TDI gives me in excess of 50mpg on a run, which is great when I am paid per mile.

Golf = the fun choice from that, imo, even more than the Audi... The Civic is driven by boy racers and attempting-trendy grandads

Personally I would go for the Golf or Audi. I am guessing they both have exactly the same engine as they are made by the same company. It just depends which one you like the look of
