Some Car Advice Please

Oh dear, I've turned 50 and I don't want to look like a trendy grandad so I guess it might well be the Golf for me. Anything else I should look at? I've got a £20K budget and the choice is mine. I don't do many long journeys and I want something with 5 doors, lots of go and a bit of style.

If you could stretch to the type R petrol version, it would wipe the floor with all the others :thumbsup:

And increase the comapny car tax from £1875 to £3418 a year.
