Solly March "ready to snub a new contract offer"

To some Lua Lua is a cult hero at Brighton but from what I have seen in the last 12 months, the other players seem to have surpassed him. This is a defining few months for him. He either improves or he won't keep pace with the level of players being recruited.

Lua Lua has been having "important few months" for about 3-4 seasons. he's OK, and does get the crowd going, but theres a lack of end product and i dont believe this is going to improve now. if there were an offer i'd take it to give March more opportunities.

I agree he flatters to deceive and is not the best at coming back and defending. He usually does 1 good run in a game which can be productive then lose the ball 3 times defending by trying to be too clever on the ball.

Lualua was great from the beginning of the season last year. He looked terrific and struck a goal or two. Then as Solly was, he was injured. Opportunities were few and far between after that. I still think he's got a lot to offer.

Haven't read the whole thread but I think we have had a reputation of starting pretty low on the contract offers so it is quite feasible that he has turned down the club's opening gambit? I have read that Kayal and Stephens can't agree contracts, this is much more of a worry to me at the moment.

Most are playing fast and loose with massive debts or breaking FFP rules but only get a wrap on the knuckles. It does seem to me that breaking the rules gets a thumbs up nowadays whilst we adhere to it.

He's got a long way to go before he's worth over 1m. He's made of crisps. It'll be essential for him this season to get a run of games under his belt.

My personal opinion of him (and a lot of others I have noted from last season) was he was lightweight. And he seriously was. But when he got his confidence levels high, I'll be quite honest, I have never seen anyone wear the stripes that were quite as exciting and gifted as he is. Assuming he picks up those confidence levels, he is very obviously a confidence player, he will rip the league a new one. I'm not sure I have ever seen such a gifted young footballer at Brighton than Solly. As for the rumours, they are just that.

I thought Solly March as getting good when Lichaj kicked him out of the game. It is never obvious. Not everybody will agree. Not even with facts like a mathematical equation.

Not much hope of agreement even with the geometry of tactical systems.

We use Sidwell if Stephens goes, I don't see a drop in class there. But losing Kayal would be a real punch in the stomach.

Indeed. It is a frustration when transfer speculation from any tabloid newspaper is spread in NSC. It is, with little exception, utter trash and lazy desk journalism.

The majority of football journalists, including those that work for the tabloids and local papers, source their stories (from managers, players, a whole host of contacts) that they've build up over years and years. They'd rarely go to "print" without doing so. They even get away from their desks from time to time. They are also often castigated for being wrong for just reporting what was true at the time. X is going to sign, X haven't made an offer , X aren't in talks. (but then that changes the next hour or day as it might done with Martin for instance).

At least they're prepared to put a name to their journalism and put their money where their mouth is. Compared to some of the twitter and online froth, NSC being an honorable exception where there are plenty of well sourced accounts, its An alice in wonderland of mirrors of regurgitated rumour, guesses, downright fakes, deliberate clickbait, and "i've heard" ITK nonsense.

Paid up football journalists are a reliable but dying breed. I'm glad they still exist.

I just can't agree that there won't be a drop in class, sorry.

I'm not sure whether you genuinely feel that way (if so, agree to disagree) or whether you are distancing yourself from the player (as i've noticed others are doing) as there's a chance he'll leave.

March is well behind the PECKING order now so if we got a million or 2 for him then we could get a lot better than him
