With planned tube strikes imminent, looks like an impossibility to get back down south?

Who's going to risk it?

The thing is 70.000 + people will not be using the tube.

They are still in talks with the tube workers. So hopefully they can stall a strike.

Yup we are still going! Leaving at 10AM, going via Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction so we are there nice and early to sample a few pubs etc. We are walking afterwards from Wembley to Stonebridge Park station (about 1.5 miles) and pick up trains there towards Willesden and then Clapham. Should be on the 01.00 train back to Brighton.... no need to get on any tube! Happy Days!

If this was in the middle of the Football Season, I wouldn't dream of it. But I'm buzzing for it.

I'm going. Supplier at work is paying for everything and driving us there.
I love freeloading.

I litrally have NO idea why you have done that, but well done anyway.

The fact that you got away last time without using the tube is one thing.
But there will be potentially 70,000 other people tomorrow night ALSO not using the tube to try to get away...could cause one or two issues.

I was just pointing out that it IS possible to get back to Brighton after an evening game. Obviously there will be 70,000 people all trying to do the same thing but there will be plans in place to help get people moving quickly.

Do you hink the Police want 70,000 people hanging around the strees of Wembley all night?

Plans in place? This is London we are talking about. It will be an obsolute nightmare.

I was going, and I've never seen a full international at Wembley, so I am totally pissed off.

Not going to, can't afford to, miss the last train home, so its a day out in Brighton for me!

I know we are not allowed to swear, but every single tube driver is now a complete (unt in my eyes:annoyed:

Yes, it's what they live for.

Thats the point though - there are no plans in place whatsoever. All thats been said so far is "do not rely on public transport for your journey to and from the stadium" - in other words, make your own arrangements. Its going to be complete and utter chaos. Yes, the police will be "moving people along" from the stadium afterwards, but what happens next ?

I'm looking at getting the 22:00 from Wembley Central to Willesden Junction. Meaning we'd probably have to leave the game at around 75-80 mins. 20:15 kick offs, is a f***ing nightmare.

We're not getting home, we're not getting home, we're not getting, we're not getting, we're not getting home!
