Seems Pascal close to signing a new deal, would be excellent.

Is this response based on:
-- that's how options work (ie it's the club that activates them)
-- it was disclosed and made public when the contract was signed
-- something else
Based on what the club has told Naylor.

With the positive indications about Groß I suspect we are waving goodbye to :

Băluţa
Duffy ( we'd probably need to recruit if this happens ).
Bissouma
Maupay ? ( we'd probably need to recruit if this happens ).

Others who may not be there to wave to : Clarke, Østigård, Connolly.

I don’t think Trossard is a top 6 type player. With us we can focus play through him. But at any of them he’d be 4th from 4 attacking players in terms of how much the play was likely directed through him. Those clubs might have a lot of the ball but so do we. It’s the old basketball situation. Sadly I imagine he will leave this summer or next (if rumours of a one year club option are true) but to a Newcastle, Villa etc.

Bissouma surely gone as every European giant could use him. Would be pissed off it’s a sideways move for more money.

Duffy needs to go to get game time and play International football.

Expect us to hold onto everyone else and not make any big/ready signings.

We all suspect Bissouma will be sold this summer, but does anybody actually know if he has been offered a new contract and if this has been turned down? The legal thing is still hanging around, and the club will have a good handle on this, but has it been reported that he’s been offered and turned down a new deal?

No it has not been reported afaik. But it is just very obvious that the club has offered him one or several new contracts.

The players that have the nous will keep in with the club they play for until their move is sorted. The shenanigans with his agent can happen behind closed doors. Won't the club want to get some money for him before his contract runs out?

His contract - it’s reported club have option - doesn’t run out til 2024 so under no pressure to sell this summer and no indication they want to.

Have a feeling Maupay will go and be replaced by 1 big spend on another striker this summer.

Bissouma - if he was extending his contract we would have heard about it by now. Can't let him go for nothing next summer.

Duffy - good servant to the club but think he will move on.

And that's it other than possibly some fringe squad players.

Remote possiblity of Trossard / Cucurella, and Sanchez going but only if we got a really silly offer for any of them. £50m or more and the club would have to seriously consider it but think it's unlikely.

It was always a joke that when you wave goodbye to fellow members at the end of a Sussex CCC season it should always be deep and meaningful....

It wasn't really about us. He is 27 if he wants a BIG move then he'd better get moving! I want him to stay but it's his future.

Lets face it you haven't a clue at all about what the club has offered. He is not out of contract so it can wait until the end of the season, which those of us that have followed our club for a number of years know that's how we work. Those offered new contracts so far from the first team squad are those going out of contract.

Barber has stated many times how our business is done and that's out of the media's knowledge, apart from the odd occasion it has benefited the club's position.

The bullshit written on line by so called ITK reporters might as well be written by my 4 month old grandson, if he could.

We all expect him to leave but more so not the rejection of any contract but because he's too good for us and sadly for us we know it.

It is bizarre to believe that Bissouma has not been offered a new contract at some point in the last 2.5 years.

It is also not how the club works. In the three seasons with GP, Rob Sanchez, Dan Burn, Davy Pröpper, Tariq Lamptey, Glenn Murray, Jeremy Sarmiento and Jason Steele all signed contract extensions during the season rather than in the summer.

How soon is now?

Most of what you have typed is supposition, and now contradiction.

If you're going to have a pop at Swanny, you'd be better served by picking something that you actually know something about and avoid the 'I've been a fan for ages, so I know more' line.

Where is the contradiction?

It should be obvious to anyone with half a brain that Bissouma has been offered a new contract at some point. He is a key player in the team, worth a lot of money, but with each day that goes at this point, his value is decreasing and he is getting closer to leaving the team. People seriously think TB is just sitting on his hands waiting for this key player to leave on a free transfer (or cheaply)?

If Biss wasn't offered a new contract last summer or so, everyone at the club needs to get sacked as it would be incomptence at the highest level not to even try to offer a new contract to a valuable asset like Biss.
