Trossard said "I still have a contract with Brighton until the summer of 2023. Will the big six come knocking for me at Brighton? We will see. If I really feel ready for that step up, I’ll get into it, but I realise every day I’m not bad at Brighton.”

I read that as.........I'm good enought for top 6, if they don't come my agent will contact them this summer and BHA must sell before I become worthless in 2023.

He later said in response to the "listen to offers" interview in Le Soir
..."It was a bit out of context. I didn’t say I’d listen to offers," he said. "I just said you never know what happens in football. I am happy to listen to Brighton as well. We will see in the summer. I’m still here, I’m happy here so let’s finish the season well first and then we will see what the future brings."

Potter said "You have got to respect players that have lives and careers and families. Of course they have got to keep all things open for them, I have no problem with that at all. Leo is very committed to us, we are committed to him"

And Andy Naylor later reported that we have an option to extend his contract for another year.

Players have a limited career, they need to get up the league as quickly as possible, they might get a horrible injury. Make hay while the sun shines, loyalty is out of the window. If he wants to move he will.

Yes. Maybe. And I've no idea what Trossard will do this summer , or whether other clubs will come in for him or whether the club will sell. I can only speculate like you. I'm just providing some context to the interviews you've quoted (he rowed back what was reported he said) and some information that might help others make sense of it (he's not going to be out of contract because the club have an option for an extra year).

It’s not ‘disloyal’ to move - he’s not a lifelong supporter or Brighton Boy. He’s a professional footballer who (presumably) wants to do the best he can in his career - that might mean moving to a bigger club/earning more.

If you force a move in the middle of a contract, I would say that is disloyal.

The players that have the nous will keep in with the club they play for until their move is sorted. The shenanigans with his agent can happen behind closed doors. Won't the club want to get some money for him before his contract runs out?

Not for me…….works both ways and there’s nothing to suggest he’s ‘forcing’ a move anyway. Hardly likely to let the contract run down to nothing are we ? We offer a new one, player gets a better offer from a bigger club, player moves

If he wants to move and he should for his career and finances. He said he'll listen to offers. He mentioned BIG 6 clubs. He said he's happy here till the end of the season then see what happens. I would want him to stay but I am biased!

Whether Cucurella stays or not probably depends on whether he has a release clause in his contract.

If he has, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to an City as they definitely need wing/full backs, with Mendy still in prison, Walker getting older and Zinchenko a little below their standard.

But the club have constantly re-iterated they will allow staff to talk to other clubs and if they want to go and the terms are right they will not stand in their way. I appreciate there are ways to interpret this but my feeling is if the price is right and it’s a bigger club then they will be off.

To be fair, I feel is a good message to send to young hungry players and probably why we have so much young talent on our books.
Yes, indeed.

But the situation being discussed was a large number of simultaneous sales in the same transfer window.

Tony simply will not let that happen.

But certainly no rumours that any of the big clubs are looking at him yet.

I recently read about the options to extend his and Veltmans contract by a year to 2024, although I read it as a player's option, not the club's option. Do we know that it is in fact a club option?
Club options.

How soon is now?
We all suspect Bissouma will be sold this summer, but does anybody actually know if he has been offered a new contract and if this has been turned down? The legal thing is still hanging around, and the club will have a good handle on this, but has it been reported that he’s been offered and turned down a new deal?

Win on Saturday and it will be the first time we’ve finish top ten and the first time in a few years above Palace. Tony Bloom is not going to now sell half of our best team ever because he needs the money. We may lose one or two of that list that we would rather keep, probably Bissouma, we’ll also let two or three go because we already have better prospects being lined up or it’s just their time to go, maybe Maupay. Rest assured that the club know what they are doing, and they will be trying to start next season with a better 25 man squad than we’ve currently got. One or two of the players on Sunday, who know they are leaving, will linger on the pitch at the end and will say their goodbyes. UTA.
It’s definitely time for those above to back GP with some quality frontmen he’s obviously had enough of Maupay missing sitters on a weekly basis.

I don't get the Maupay hate. Without his goals we'd probably have been in a relegation scrap this season. Yes, he isn't a 20 goal a season striker, but they don't exist for clubs our level. We need to add another player like Maupay, another option that can get us 8-12 next season.

Who said I hated Maupay? Retract please.

I just don't think he is right for what we need. Nobody can fault his effort on the pitch, but it doesn't tend to result in the results we need. That's been pretty evident during the latter part of the season.

If rumours are to be believed, or contracts not renewed, it could be any or all of Bissouma, Gross, Cucurella, Trossard, Maupay, MacAllister, Welbeck, Sanchez, Lamptey and big Shane. Despite my mate regerencing Duffy to a dinosaur I wouldnt wanna lose him. Quality player.

The body language watchers will be out in force!
If that lot go (minus keeper) we'll be waving goodbye to PL status soon. The club is in the position Southampton were a few years ago and its make or break next season. Biss, Welbeck, Cucurella and Lamptey are the best 4 players. Lose them and you rip the heart out of the side. I cant see GP wanting Gross to go. He is an obvious favourite of his

An extra game gives us. Great chance of finishing 8th

Who is this "we/we'll" you keep referring to?
