Yes. Maybe. And I've no idea what Trossard will do this summer , or whether other clubs will come in for him or whether the club will sell. I can only speculate like you. I'm just providing some context to the interviews you've quoted (he rowed back what was reported he said) and some information that might help others make sense of it (he's not going to be out of contract because the club have an option for an extra year).

It’s not ‘disloyal’ to move - he’s not a lifelong supporter or Brighton Boy. He’s a professional footballer who (presumably) wants to do the best he can in his career - that might mean moving to a bigger club/earning more.

If you force a move in the middle of a contract, I would say that is disloyal.

The players that have the nous will keep in with the club they play for until their move is sorted. The shenanigans with his agent can happen behind closed doors. Won't the club want to get some money for him before his contract runs out?

If he wants to move and he should for his career and finances. He said he'll listen to offers. He mentioned BIG 6 clubs. He said he's happy here till the end of the season then see what happens. I would want him to stay but I am biased!

Whether Cucurella stays or not probably depends on whether he has a release clause in his contract.

If he has, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to an City as they definitely need wing/full backs, with Mendy still in prison, Walker getting older and Zinchenko a little below their standard.

But the club have constantly re-iterated they will allow staff to talk to other clubs and if they want to go and the terms are right they will not stand in their way. I recently read about the options to extend his and Veltmans contract by a year to 2024, although I read it as a player's option, not the club's option. Do we know that it is in fact a club option?

Rest assured that the club know what they are doing, and they will be trying to start next season with a better 25 man squad than we’ve currently got. It’s definitely time for those above to back GP with some quality frontmen he’s obviously had enough of Maupay missing sitters on a weekly basis.

I don't get the Maupay hate. Without his goals we'd probably have been in a relegation scrap this season. Yes, he isn't a 20 goal a season striker, but they don't exist for clubs our level. We need to add another player like Maupay, another option that can get us 8-12 next season.

I just don't think he is right for what we need. Nobody can fault his effort on the pitch, but it doesn't tend to result in the results we need. That's been pretty evident during the latter part of the season.
