THIS.

Everything in restaurants is blended for the British/Western palate.

Anything cooked at home by Indians shits all over most take away or restaurant curries.

I absolutely love a dish which is effectively curried chicken soup with home made masala spice, potatoes and a tomato and onion gravy. Bloody handsome but not on any menu anywhere.

I put jalfrezi, pretty much never goes wrong even at a mediocre restaurant
Close call vs Bhuna though, had the most fantastic prawn one recently
You are spoilt for choice for restaurants down south but up here the curries beats southern ones hands down

Well Worcester is a stones throw from Birmingham. The home of all that is best about Indian curries in this country.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Where is the option for a Thali so you can have a small one of everything at the same time?

Chicken (or lamb) ceylon.

Mind you, it can vary a lot between restaurants.

Vindaloo all the way for me.

I've been up above Phal before with a Tindaloo, but it was a drunk bet type of thing. I do have a bizarre ability to eat stupidly hot stuff.

Have you or would you do the one chip challenge? (basically a dorito covered in ghost pepper? Comes in a coffin shaped box)

Carolina reaper I think actually

Aren't you also a dhansak fan Blackadder? or am l getting confused? :ffsparr:

Not me CS. I also like a Jalfrezzi, sometimes a Madras.

Not sure I have had a dhansak. Think I will try one now. :)

I cook my own Bengal mustard fish curry or Kerala fish curries from scratch. Good restaurants are so thin on the ground I dont bother.

Have Vindaloo at Welfarespoons to mask the "meat", Favourites are Prawn Puree and lamb bhuna but havent been to Indian in years.

I like jalfrezi, dupiaza, karahi, Madras but Madras is never ever the same in any two restaurants, so don't bother.

Unfortunately we dont have one in Plymouth, but when I visit London we head straight for our favourite Sri Lankan restaurant.
For me better than most Indian fare.
Too many things i like to name a favourite but i do like a basic fish curry and egg hoppers.
