So does Naylor know he signed and is leading up to a big scoop!!!??

Well our wage structure that has been in place since ermmmmm yeah well its just increased by 5,6,7,8,9 or £10,000 per week if we can secure Savage this week.

I don't see your point BG. There is, without doubt, an employee wage structure at BHA - I think someone has already stated that this is a FL requirement anyway.
Loan players are not Club employees so such a structure is not applicable - a bit like a company bringing in specialist consultants when they don't have the necessary skills amongst their existing employees.

How do you know that there is not money in the coffers to spend on Savage for a month? We have just loaned out three players, and there may well be some money left over because we may have not have spend our budget yet.

Do you have any idea whom is being paid what? Or how much of the budget is currently going on wages? No. Do you know these figures for a fact? No. Do I? No. Does anyone on here? No.

But I am sure Ken Brown / the club secretary does, and will advise accordingly on budgets.

So who are you to say whether we can afford it or to say that we’re not breaking our wage structure?

Oh right, so which 'budget' would you put Savages proposed wages on when you finalise the accounts ??

If you accept that we saving 50% of the players wages we have loaned out, where have the savings come from those to fund Savages move to us ???

Even the best accountant would have trouble balancing that out.

I have always said that the club has business plans and projections and within them lies 'budgets'.......but as our accounts really show that we cant afford much, we are fortunate that we have Tony Bloom and others to bankroll many/most part of the club.

How do you budget after our £2m loss last year and still bring in Virgo and others and then consider Savage and his likely wage demands.

Players wages / demands are not fulfilled or declined down to any perceived budgets on that business plan.

The whims of the board members, who might agree and find money to fund certain area or not will be the deciding factor and not your 'pie in the sky' budgets.

It really irritates me that some people on here assume the worst. You probably know as little as I do but just want to complain all the time. Why not try to support the club.

Dick Knight has been criticised in the past for not investing in the team and now people like you say he is investing too much and putting the club's future in danger. He cannot win!

Let's face it you have no idea (nor does anybody else) of the figures invloved in either the loans in or out of the club, plus no idea of how much we are willing to pay towards Savage's wages so it's pointless areguing about really.

Read my posts and I have said that it should please us and I have never indicated that he is putting the future of the club in danger, never.

Where the hell did you read that.

But I happen to think that its a reasonable discussion to disagree with people on here who seem to think that we are anything other than a kept club that hasnt made a penny piece in recent history.

We are a smaller version of all the well known Premier League Clubs that we all snivel at with our mates over our pints on a Friday night.

But some still, for some bizaare reason wish to paint a picture of financial prudency and sneer at the Bournemouths of this world.

At a time that we had real ambitions to sign a player that would cost many more thousands of pounds a week, the budget boys still persist !!!

Precisely.

Well whats your view and state it ..... any chance.

Savage reportedly on £25,000 was targeted by Brighton as a loan player.

A considered view would accept it would be a little more than your silly statement that the Mayos of this worlds subsidise wages would cover any likely Savage wage.

So exactly how much would you expect Derby to demand for Brighton to pay part of this extravagant wage ?

You never seem to have a view because you accept you dont know certain things, thats fine and quite reasonable.

But on a discussion board it doesnt add much, views are here to be discussed.

My point remains that Savages wages were going to be maybe beyond what we had previously accepted as obtainable.

As a fan thats quite exciting, but on deeper inspection it shows that we are being lines that do not add up to why previous players have left.

How can I have a view on a subject about which I know none of the facts? That defies logic.

The view I was expressing was that you, also knowing none of the facts, chose the thread to criticise the board and DK...again.

Not sure if it has been said before but I think Savage is just wanting to go on loan somewhere near his home in the North West. Therefore much as he would like to work with MA again, we are about as far away as possible to travel. I guess he will come as a last option

I would presume they would hope to offload him soon, but it still seems strange that we can even consider his wages, especially with our wage structure, you know the one, where we lost previous greedy players !!!

1) It was you who first linked (in post 17) the possible arrival of Savage with our existing wage structure, together with the departure of previous (but unspecified) players
2) The Club's wage structure applies to employees of the Club and will contain provision for all the additional employment costs such as NI, pensions etc. I think my "consultants" analogy is entirely appropriate to a situation where specialist support is being brought in for a limited period.
3) Accounts don't have budgets, they are basically a listing of income and expenditure and any money being paid to Savage, or any other of the loanees and temps will appear under the latter.
