Ah well, they pay their money like everyone else so they're entitled to do what they like. My youngest and I missed both first half goals because we were cold and needed the loo and left straight after the Forest third because we were just sodding cold. We're front row WSU so the concrete wall was like an ice block, not that I'm justifying leaving early to anyone. I normally wait until the end of the match and applaud the team off but didn't feel like it today. I've left early before and no doubt I'll leave early at some future match too.

M&S do a great line in thermal underwear:thumbsup:

Not sure how you know since you never actually go but it was a massive exodus - far more than normal in my view

it most certainly was, and damn sad to witness. What a wonderfully demonstrative act to new manager, and our players that we are all fully behind them.

The two guys behind me left when Forest scored their second goal! This is along with complaining how rubbish the game was from about 90 seconds in :wanker:
On the plus side this made the last 30 minutes more enjoyable for me

In that final 10 minutes I began planning a money making scheme.
Sadly though it revolved around the Albion scoring 2 more goals.

I'd then have 2 weeks to print up T-shirts with the motif 'I saw all 7 ... 07.02.15'

The beauty of the scheme, because I'm lazy, is that I'd only have to make 2,000.

There was a father and son combo in our row today who managed to miss 40 minutes of the game by the simple ploy of arriving late, leaving their seats early before half time, returning late after half time and leaving early at the end (before Forest's third goal).

I saw five goals. They managed to see one.

Why did you thumbs down me on post 13? Not really bothered, just curious cos it appears we agree on most things on this post

People behind me were talking in the first half about leaving at 4.30. They were actually gone for the entire second half. None of my business and all that, but really - why bother coming at all?

Also if you want to bring your darling kid to the football sit in the family stand.....some annoying brat behind me all game playing on a tablet, with the thing annoyingly loud...shit it was annoying...why waste your money on a kids ticket?
In my day my kids had to stand on a milk crate to see over the Goldstone wall!!

No not me but so many of the total morons who come to games and seem to actually revel when things don't go well.

Biggest example today ... some total f I n g dumb nut sitting WSL block F and I would guess circa Central of row O or P who, when Kayal came on and his first touch of the ball was not the best it could have been, let out almost a cry of glee .. honest I could not believe it, just how bleed in g bad is it?

But the same tw at almost wet himself with excitement and leapt around like a demented idiot when he scored !

Just why do these dickheads bother coming to a match? I'm becoming more convinced that they actually want to see us fail.

just F off, stay at home, and don't bother coming. Go and support some premiership team via means of looking At them on a TV screen.

And if by chance it was you, and you are reading this thread I hope you are so very proud of yourself, you are a D I C K

Kayal signing is looking like it could be a very good one, people expecting him to be the player, "he was a class above in the development game", "he was wanted by United", "we are so lucky to have him!!!" First touch a bad one. That is amusing. The guy still seemed to celebrate us scoring. It reads to me like you are being harsh on this particular person.

Played well today especially first half. We're incredibly unlucky not to win let alone draw. Worrying that again we didn't get the points we deserved - some poor set piece defending and not clinical enough up top again (just to counter balance my first point.) Yet still some people can't take losing on the chin and have to make out we were crap. We weren't.

I am genuinely surprised at how low some of the marks on the player ratings thread are.

It was the people who reacted to the third Forest goal, by immediately deciding to go home, who really got my goat. I can only take pleasure in the fact that they missed nine minutes of genuinely entertaining football, enhanced with an encouragingly decent Albion goal by a debutant.

I found it quite amusing, seeing so many people jump up in unison and walk out. And then to see the such a dramatic finish.

It is all about ego.
I think the problem is there are a lot of Brighton "fans" who want to be right all the time and have their ego massaged by looking like they know more then the manager or the people running the cub. They can not do this if we are doing well or players are playing well as they can not come out with some utter tosh as how they would have done it differently and have all their mates nod and agree and tell them they know everything. It is pathetic really. Any decision made they will say they had a better solution regardless. When we had Barnes they moaned and wanted him out, when the club sold him they moaned because we didn't offer him a new contract, if we had and he had stayed they, no doubt, would have moaned that he was shit and a wasted of money and we should have sold him.

The thing with this argument, is that it works both ways. There are fans who I'm sure see being able to prove themselves superior fans by criticising those who moan when we lose as a positive to take from our losses.

It's a feature of fandom. There are people in all walks who want to prove themselves to be the best. They're a better fan of that book because they've read it more often than you, they were fans of that band before they were famous, they know the words to that film off by heart, they know those wrestlers' real names and all the insider terms, and they know more about football than you and/or they are more positive about their teams performances/prospects than you. Given the OP's description of the incident, I'm not convinced he isn't one of these people.

Takes all sorts....but in can ruin a day at the football being close to a bell end

There were a couple near me who seemed to want to make oafishly yelling 'Ince' every time Ince passed or headed the ball a thing.

I left after the 3rd went in. You should've get so upset about people leaving early.

Very much this. I would have celebrated long and hard had we scored an equaliser that thousands of fans who had better things to do would have missed. Although I reserve a special place in hell for the couple who thought the moment we won a corner in the 90th minute was the moment they had to leave. Why on earth would you choose this moment?

A couple near us left on 62 minutes...just as we went 2-1 down I think it was. Incredible

Indeed they do. Kept me nice and warm on the golf course this morning and the Amex this afternoon.

I didn't know that I had. It must have been something to do with scrolling through the thread on my Kindle and letting my fingers touch random locations on the screen. My apologies.

I think I've now managed to undo the damage.

We still lost and it was bloody cold, I don't blame anyone for leaving at 3-1, I did and I haven't done that for years.
I'm not sure if it made me feel any better and I didn't get home any earlier, I just wasn't happy at the time.

I must stop drinking before the match, as I didn't think we were that good , and Forest were poor.
But I know you are a positive person Sheebo and I respect your opinion, just don't expect everyone to feel the same after another defeat.
