So 4 goal Murray, but what REALLY matters is...

He did wave at us fans and gave us a clap, but at first seemed more inclined on collecting his match ball and congratulating the team before coming up to the fans for a proper clap :)

FFS, and I suppose he DELIBERATELY came across to the fans when he scored the hat trick goal to get a yellow card too.

It seems no matter what he does some people would rather be full of RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION as they are more concerned about his lack of 'respect' at Brentford for not waving to Wayne (a 39 year old 17 stone carpet fitter from Hangleton, and Wayne Jr, his 11 year old son who is proudly telling everyone about his first ASBO for lobbing bricks at asian shop windows).

People were actually having a go at him when he held the match ball up to the fans rather than clapped (despite having his hands full!)

He did eventually clap, and some idiots cheered when he did. Goons.

if a player has scored 4 goals and singlehandedly won a match i think we should be clapping him not the other way around

When I see the reactions of some 'fans' I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting away or having their professional love of the game dampened down.

But I hope they see past the empty vessels making most noise, and understand that others love them to play great in an Albion shirt.

Let's not get too carried away about Murray's overall contribution. He got four goals yesterday - and our No1, big-money striker still doesn't even register in the League One top-scoring charts with just 9 for the season. Not good enough for someone of his ability.

1) Who is getting carried away? The only people getting carried away are the sad cases like you who dislike Murray and jump to belittle his achievement as you can't bare to see him praised.

2) It's not good enough, but you have to consider that he played the first few games while still injured, then missed over a month after an operation, which finally seems to have sorted his Hernia out.

Everybody is forgetting that not only did he score 4 but he also provided Forster with his goal. Great performance and showed genuine delight with the fans when he scored his hatrick goal.

I think what he's saying is, let's not get carried away and suddenly think that Murray is the best striker in the division. He was bloody good yesterday, but we all know he can play that well when he is not injured/is interested/is in a good team etc. The problem has been consistency, ie the last game I saw him play anywhere near as well as that was Southampton. If Murray can play half as well as he did yesterday on a regular basis then he will be a great asset, but lets not pretend that he can't be abject for a lot of games. Lets hope he carries on in yesterday's vein for the rest of the season!

So now do you understand why people have a go at you when you 'belittle' other players in the squad? Murray has been as a guilty as any of the other players for this disaster of a season, you can't just pick and choose who gets slagged because you happen to like them.

It may have been mentioned already on another thread but since when was celebrating in front of your own fans a bookable offence. It was pathetic refereeing in my mind. The guy has just scored a hatrick in a massive six pointer in front of his own fans.

As for Murray, I have said for a while that I think he is our best player since Zamora (and that is not getting carried away after one game). If we can keep him happy and get him to stay in the long term, he could be a fantastic asset for the club as we go to Falmer.
