Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
In.

I saw enough to suggest (only my second game of the season, along with Brentford (A)) that we can attack our way out of trouble.

I couldn't quite believe how inept our defending was at times. We shot ourselves in the foot coming out of the blocks slowly and you could see the confidence drain away from them, despite bouncing back with two goals. They looked nervous. I did feel sorry for Graeme Smith as he couldn't do much about the goals and it did not look like an organisational problem, merely basic personal errors.

I felt we would score during our spell of pressure in the second half and could not believe that the Russian(?) linesman gave a goal kick as opposed to a corner. EVERYONE saw that apart from him and the referee.

Ah well. Entertaining.

As for where we go from here, I do think we need to add something to the coaching staff. Ever since we lost Wilkins, our technique seems to have abandoned us. I think there was some damage done with Adams' 'fun training' and/or the sessions of just running around a lot. We seem to be a quicker team now and generally seem to be getting fitter.

In, Slade has done it at previous clubs and we can't keep changing manager. Still confident he will get it right but then again wasn't there today so can't comment on how bad/good we were

What exactly has he done at previous clubs? Not one promotion to his name.

lol why? coz if banged in winner deep in injury time, this would not be here, too many people cant wait to jump on RS back, pathetic really.

If we had grabbed a last gasp winner the poll would still be on here , either myself or somebody else would have made this issue into a thread.

Rubbish manager whose only highlight in his management career was failure.

Spent large and wasted enough of Bloom's money. If I was Bloom I wouldn't give him another pence.

Discipline has been horrible and again highlights his ineptitude to actually manage players.

The results have been awful.

Despite all the fans who love relegation fights coming out of the woodwork now that we are in one will be saying IN, the fact remains that the vast majority of everyone had high expectations before the season began (visit the dozen polls), those expectations were founded on belief and facts. Seeing people squirm and backtrack to explain the failed expectation is sad.

Just go Slade.

Hardly Russell's fault that Elphick had a mare, in for now.

Today's three goals we conceded were f***ing horrendous personal errors made (primerialy) by Tommy Elphick.

WE are trying to play good football and in the final third we are doing well, but forced inconsistant back four, made up of three centerbacks, with our first choice players out for now, is clearly affected us.

The imagined improvement has now gone -

1st 5 games = 2 points
2nd 5 games = 7 points
3rd 5 games = 5 points

so that bubble has now burst

Fot the last months any criticism of Slade and the resukts Acker trooted out this 5 game mantra which was always at best , dubious. We can now see as you pointed out we are NOT improving so Acker may have to try another formula to show some signs of improvement.

In fact the last 9 games in all competitions has shown

1 win
3 draws
5 defeats

11 for
15 against

At the moment I am with the on the fence brigade because I am not sure whether anybody coming in would do any better with what we have.

If TB was to allow and finance a change of players and coaches as needed then I would be with the '0uts'

Worried

What worries me is that if we dont make a change in management and coaching soon a lot of the players confidence is going to be shot to pieces - and it will be harder for anyone new coming in to pick up the pieces.

Threre have now been successive regimes where young players haven't developed and senior pros are not playing to their potential (Elphick in the first category, Virgo in the second). Compare last year and this with what McGhee and Coppell managed to get out of fairly ordinary players. That is the difference between high quality management and also rans.

Sadly, Slade is not the right man, and the refusal of some to accept that is simply causing a slow, painful death. Better to turn off the life support machine...for all concerned.

I have now turned to the dark side:blush: Slade is a very decent man and I have no idea about White and Booker but things need to change. With the squad the club has the Albion should be in the top half and the basics being made are very sunday league and very costly.

er, I have been watching the Albion for the last 40 years? You?

How low some 'supposed supporters' expectations are for the club, that they are satified & content with 3 wins as we enter November. Well sorry I am not!!

Longer Mr Uber fan. If you're so old how come you post like a 10 year old ? Are you just plain stupid ?

So when you have been watching BHA for as long as we have, you have seen it all before. Agreed? Where 10 or 20 years ago I too would have been in the camp to keep Slade in & see if things will improve, we both know that it is not going to turn around. Our chairman has been very quiet which speaks volumes. Three wins all season & now in November is totally unaceptable. There are NO signs of improvement. The alternative is to limp on & maybe we will get a couple of more wins by Xmas? Sorry the time has come to say goodbye Mr Slade before this season is a complete washout. There really is no reason to keep Slade other than for a goodwill gesture over keeping us up last season. But that was then & this is now.
