In all the good news still some people moan. I'm sure he will decide who he wants in his back room team but White has done nothing wrong and brought in Owusu and Borrowdale, the players speak very highly of him and must be doing something right for him to still be here while managers have come and gone. If you go back to the insider's comments a few weeks ago McGhee wanted him to join the Scotland back room if he got the job so obviously so people are impressed with his work

Excellent news, well done the club for sorting this before everyone goes on holiday. Now the club can focus on next season and we won't waste valuable time like normal.

League 1 next season will be a bitch to get out of. Realistically, we may have to bide our time until the season after - swap Norwich, Charlton, Leeds / Dons with, say Barnsley, Blackpool, Doncaster and 10/11 looks a more likely prospect.

Slade's brief for 09/10 should be to continue his good work and help rediscover the Brighton "soul" Adams destroyed.

Russell is an excellent man manager who has shown superb skills in motivating and preparing the team. He makes shrewd tactical changes during a game."

The club have made their decision , I hope it doesn't backfire on them when we are not running away with the league title next season.

I hope nobody is thinking we will automatically storm the league next season, it was thinking like that by the board that got us in this situation in the first place.

I'd be happy with mid table and a period of stability.

absolutely for one this division will be a lot tougher next season. A nice season floating around mid table and possibly flirting with the play-offs.

An 'eggs'cellent decision, glad It was done sooner rather later now he can have a well earned break.
Boards do not generally make snap decisions, thats why there is a board and discussions have to take place where all variables are considered.
There will always be dissenters for that is human nature and fans are not usually known for their patience.
But justice has been done, Slade believed with what he had that he could avoid relegation.
If he now says he is aiming for a play off place, who am I to argue (would settle for top 10 myself).

I'm off to Cornwall for a bit of Russell spotting. Great news. An end to the threat of Mr Wise. It might end in tears but if BHA don't give The Bald one a chance we will never know. Who needs hair anyway

Fantastic news. This is the man who has rekindled my enjoyment on Saturdays.

Can we just keep on playing the same style of football thay I for one have enjoyed over the last part of the season.

So delighted, after the comments made to me by a couple of club staff, I am pleased to see them wrong. Slade has indeed made matchdays enjoyable again, after a 2 year absence, let's all get behind him, and whoever he has as backroom staff.

First I have seen of this - brilliant news!

As for the non-league setup - insider made a few good posts on Booker and White's credentials a few weeks ago. The gist being that Taylor and McGhee both tryed (and failed) to take our 'non-league' coaches with them when they moved onto better clubs. I think that Slade should do what he thinks is right with the players and coaches. After all, none of us get to see what happens on the training ground every day.

I agree. The greatone must make the choices and not us.
