The major reason Sky Sports is so crap now is that Satanic Sports got the best package when the football rights went out to tender. This package went to the highest bidder but Sky were only allowed to win/retain 4 out of the 6 packages as Ofcom decided there should be more competition and Sky could no longer have a monopoly on premier league and other football broadcasting rights.

Think all the time about canceling it coz I v rarely watch the live football, which I think we are really paying for,but like the cricket and speedway, and as a night worker with my body clock saying 2am is wake time all the ODI games at the mo give me something to watch.
But sky are cute with their packages and just canceling the sports saves little, compared to movies and sport, but then you have to pay for Disney as an extra, which the kids love,so they got ye by packaging stuff together.

???

Sky were allowed 5 of the 6. Setanta bought the two LOWEST priced packages...

Plus it was the EU courts that decided more competition was required.

Sky Sports is a deff watse of money- the football thats been on the tv this season has been shocking- i have got Virgin/Ntl and they have taken off sky sports news and replace it with sentanta sports new which is dire! they also took off sky1. and for the movies- they replay the same crap day after day!

On paper Chelsea v Liverpool should have been a great game. A decision in advance not to have selected it for broadcast would have been questioned. It ain't Sky's fault it was shit.

I reckon I watch more egg-chasing that football though. Losing Eurosport would be a bigger loss for me given the motogp coverage.

Actually, the last few times I've watched this fixture, I've ended up almost chewing my arm off at the shoulder with boredom. The Chumps League SF's were huge occasions, but in terms of the quality of the game it was an utter BOREFEST, and the League games recently have been the same.

Glad I gave it a miss. I watched Rocky IV instead, it was BRILLO.

Got rid at the end of last season - best thing I did. Now just the basic pack - Geoff Stelling is a god on Sky Sports News, and I still get Eurosport for the bikes.

Andy Gray - complete wanker!

The whole SKY sports sponsorship will kill the modern day game eventually. And only the rich will be able to go.

Football is on practically every day - no wonder people with access to it are getting bored, they need to be encouraged back out to see live games. Where is that excitement of looking forward to the big game @ 3 on a Saturday or the 1000's queuing for 2 hours before a game gone?

Must admit that I have become a little bored of it all - I think it is football overkill. If there was only one game on a week you would prob look forward to it but there is so much football on that it gets very tiresome. I actually find the Sunday supplement the best thing on there.
