Having worked with Sir Mo, I find the media portrayal of him very different to the reality of the person, especially in his last BBC 1 film (a few years ago).

I'm curious: in what way did you find the reality different from the media portrayal? Your experience was better or worse?

No edge to the question; just curiosity.

He states he started going to school at 12.
Why would he confess the trafficking now?

The point I was trying to make was that a number of people are saying they went to school with him before he was 12. Clearly he could have got his facts wrong but it does seem a bit odd.

I've no idea what his motivations are.

Is he in touch with his mother. Has the women who he first stayed with been traced and also the women who originally flew him over.

Yes he is in touch with his mother, his brothers and the rest of his family. He is also in touch with the real Mo Farah. They know who the woman is who he stayed with but she refused to comment - she is the sister-in-law of the woman who ended up taking him in.

On Sunday, Novak Djokovic said he remembered watching Pete Sampras win Wimbledon in 1992 and that was the reason he fell in love with tennis.

Agassi won Wimbledon that year.

People remember details incorrectly all the time. It doesn’t mean everything they are saying is untrue.

. . His mother was clear in saying she sent him to live with her brother and was never told he had gone to UK. . Here he is at end saying still does not know why or who sent him to UK and yet very strange no mention was made of any effort to contact her brother and family as they would have all the answers

The numbers he achieved once he began working with Salazar were suspicious.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...-mo-farah-changed-account-to-us-investigators

When Farah was drug tested six days after the injections, on 17 April 2014, he did not record L-carnitine on his doping control form as he was required to do. The programme also revealed that a year later, when he was questioned by Usada officials in London for nearly five hours, he also initially denied receiving the supplement.

According to transcripts obtained by the BBC, Farah was asked by Usada’s investigators: “If someone said that you were taking L-carnitine injections, are they not telling the truth?”

Farah replied: “Definitely not telling the truth, 100%. I’ve never taken L‑carnitine injections at all.”

He was then asked: “Are you sure that Alberto Salazar hasn’t recommended that you take L‑carnitine injections?”

Farah responded: “No, I’ve never taken L-carnitine injections.”

He was asked again: “You’re absolutely sure that you didn’t have a doctor put a butterfly needle – into your arm – and inject L‑carnitine a few days before the London marathon?”

Farah replied: “No. No chance.”

While L-carnitine is a naturally occurring amino acid, the World Anti-Doping Agency has strict rules governing its use – with a maximum of 50ml being allowed every six hours. Salazar was found guilty of two violations of these in respect of other people when he received a four-year doping ban in October.

Jessica Judd, who ran in the 5,000m at the 2019 world championships, said: ‘The amount of samples that athletes give and they won’t retest and use stupid excuses as to why [is] embarrassing.’

According to Panorama, minutes after leaving the interview, Farah then met Fudge – who had been interviewed by Usada the day before – and told its investigators that he had got the L-carnitine from Switzerland from a contact of Salazar’s.

He then returned to the interview room as the investigators were packing up and gave a different account of his L-carnitine use. The transcript shows Farah telling Usada: “So I just wanted to come clean, sorry guys, and I did take it at the time and I thought I didn’t.”

The Usada investigator then says: “A few days before the race – with Alberto present and your doctor and Barry Fudge – and you’re telling us all about that now but you didn’t remember any of that when I kept asking you about this?”

Farah responds: “It all comes back for me, but at the time I didn’t remember.”

When questioned by the Times about the incident, Farah said he had initially forgotten about the injections and the name of the supplement before being reminded by Fudge.

“I finished the interview and then realised ‘shit’, I just remember having that injection,” he explained. “What was the name of it? L-carnitine. And I was like ‘shit’.”

I agree, the memory plays tricks on everyone. I remember Hertford Middle school though which was 3 years of my life (unlike Mo, I'm not sure anyone else would remember my unremarkable 3 years). I might struggle to name when Becker won the posh squash.

This story may well be true but the problem with all this is that in this current version of the truth everything in his autobiography about his childhood is a lie as well as the mis truths he has told about his dodgy coaches. That's before we get to failing to convince about things like taking 83 times the recommended dose of Vit D (USADA report). Given there are inconsistencies with this version of events it's not inconceivable that things might not be what they seem here either.

To be clear, Novak is also one of the biggest dicks in sport, this isn't a defence of him.

Thought program was fascinating but many unanswered questions. Why for example did he lose touch with Kinsi who it was clear looked after him so well for 8 years at such an important stage of his life. Kinsi knew woman who treated him as a slave but so little detail of her

Thought program was fascinating but many unanswered questions.

But at least it brought some closure and answered a few questions that have been troubling the 'real' Mo Farah these past years. Not least why strangers kept knocking on his door unannounced and asking him to piss in a jam jar.

So knowingly he broke the law when applying for British Citizenship in 2000. He wasn’t a 9yr old. So under a different identity allegedly defrauded the nation of funds, allegedly defrauded the companies of sponsorship, allegedly defrauded the Queen, but it’s ok because he won gold medals and is an elite athlete. He has been a tax exile for years. Are there no laws anymore? I wonder how long average Joe Public would get away with such activities.

If he has stepped outside of immigration laws then his case should be treated like no other. I seem to remember a well known activist on the right side of politics being deported from the US for using a different name to enter the states and being deported from Mexico years later. Is this any different?
