Mo Farah - what a guy.

I hope this story makes a few people reflect on their views about deporting migrants, the Rwanda policy and so on. They've cheered on a man who they'd have happily deported in the past, a bloke who loves the country that adopted him and has given so much back to the UK in return.

All of these migrants are PEOPLE. Like Mo, the vast majority are desperate to escape injustice and make something of themselves in this country, all at a time when we are desperately short of labour.

I agree with the sentiments about what happened to him. Awful to hear how he buried his feelings for so many years. Sounds like he wasn’t desperate to escape injustice though. That came with his kidnap and forced slavery in the UK (apologies if I have misinterpreted his interview that I watched whilst getting ready this morning).

If he has stepped outside of immigration laws then his case should be treated like no other. I seem to remember a well known activist on the right side of politics being deported from the US for using a different name to enter the states and being deported from Mexico years later. Is this any different?

You mean stop me before we get to the point where Mo lied about who his coach was and is best known for his association with Pharmaceuticals? That and his training regime in a country where testing was notoriously lax but produced a succession of World beating long distance runners? If he can lie about things like that - which is on record - I'm keeping an open but cynical mind on whether his latest story is true especially when people can remember him at primary school when he was supposed to be locked up in the Harry Potter cupboard. Something about all this doesn't add up.

He was lied to. His father was shot when he was 4 and he was told he was coming to the U.K. to family.

Love the guy and was fortunate to see him win gold at London 2012

Can't imagine what life must be life has been like for him with this hanging over him, incredibly brave to tell his story, so brave RESPECT

Ah here we go. I thought better of you. I'll dignify this with a response albeit I really shouldn't given the accusation.

Back in the early 2000s I had cancer and one of the most inspirational stories I read that got me out of the funk I was in was Lance Armstrongs "It's not about the bike" (He's white Harry) Here was a man that conquered cancer and conquered the world afterwards and won the Tour de France every year as soon as night followed day. If he could do that why couldn't I recover? What an inspiration. What a man. Unfortunately years later we found out the truth. It was a sophisticated drug doping operation. It changed my perception of athletic transformation especially when people keep dodgy company.

Mo's associated with Jama Aden and Salazar bears questioning at the very least and he has been caught lying about all of this (see Panaroma). On the basis of this, I don't take everything he says at face value especially when there seems to be a number of people who seem to remember him at school which he now says he wasn't at. Perhaps this hard hitting documentary created by a PR firm will provide the answers? I'll watch and maybe find out some answers.

Till then, I'm done here and you can find another thread to put someone on ignore and accuse them of being a racist.

Context. Ronnie Biggs spent many years living a lie. He wasn't a trafficked child, though. And linking living a lie with allegations about the 'fishy' Kane-like improvement in attainment seems, as I have suggested, peevish at best.

What point do people want to make here? It seems clear the point that a minority wish to make.

I have only watched a bit of the documentary, and will watch some more this weekend. I have no reason to doubt these new revelations.

I have only watched a bit of the documentary, and will watch some more this weekend. I have no reason to doubt these new revelations.
