I will give you a slightly longer one to PoTG's reply.

Brexit was a democratic, skewed to the working class revolution to overthrow the Establishment(EU). The sort of things leftists used to say they love.

The problem was that it was not a proper revolution where we take out the tyrants and shoot them, they remained in power. The term I believe is hold overs who are prone to sabotage, leaks and generally not knowing what its about.

What would I do different?

Well for starters leave the ECHR then get immigration down ala Australia. This would collapse the housing market in time making housing affordable, living standards and quality of life to rise as demographics kick in.

The losers would be landlords, property speculators and those sinking to much money in assets as a form of investment rather than in training and business.

Poor landlords, pass the Kleenex I think I'm going to cry.
what if i told you ECHR doesnt stop us from managing immigration? recent appeal failed because Rwanada was deemed unsafe, not because the concept of sending immigrants elsewhere. other point of course is we want immigrants, helps keep wages down and costs lower, they do lots of jobs the indigenous population deem beneath them, and live where others wouldnt.

Thanks for that. I would suggest that leftists did love that version of Brexit (hence the attitude of Benn and Corbyn, albeit Corbyn couldn't really make up his 'mind').

I don't follow your second point about shooting tyrants and how that maps to my question. If the tyrants are the EU, we left. What is there to shoot?

What do hold overs have to do with anything? Johnson took us out of the EU with no deal. There is nothing to hold over. Or are you suggesting that the problems that have arisen is due to fifth column tories (they are the government) sabotaging things? If so do you have any examples?

Your plans are most intriguing. Presumably you are not claiming that the ECHR is holding the UK back from having immigration 'ala' Australia? Presulably you have another reason for leaving the ECHR. I had no idea we are still in it. Can you list all the rulings they have made over us since we left the EU that you presumably think have contributed to the Brexit 'sabotage'?

The rest of your analysis is fantasy land speculation. House prices never fall (unless an economy tanks, as it did after the Lawson bust). I see you seem to imagine all this will trigger some sort of socialism, on a national scale. I have always been a bit suspicious of those espousing national socialism.

You seem to be very confident in your world view. I find that a little alarming. Luckily I don't see any prospect of your solution narrative coming to pass. I don't see any evidence there are clever tories sabotaging Brexit, or that all our hopes and dreams are being held back by being in the ECHR and not adopting an Australian style immigration policy. I don't see anything particularly special here:

As for your housing market price collapse.....if the economy tanks, your wish will come true. And this is one thing with which I do agree. The chance of the economy (and hence the housing market) tanking because of Brexit has indeed increase a bit, so we do see eye to eye over that. And immigration has fallen now we have blocked all the foreign workers who were till recently the backbone of the NHS. Albeit that immigration has always been ours to control. Not sure what sort of immigration you want to block 'ala' Australia. Are you thinking 'boat people' here? Surely we have all that under control now, having 'taken back control' and with Rwanda as a back up.

Interesting, and shows that although Brexit was driven and funded by extremists from the right, it was also seen as some sort of 'working class revolution' by some on the extreme left, whilst somehow managing to totally ignore it's leadership, funding and direction of travel

And what are we left with ? A totally predictable complete and utter shitshow, the British economy crashing, and yourself and @Is it PotG? as the strangest of bedfellows on threads such as this. He loving the Government who implemented it, you hating them, both still insisting it was a good idea despite 3.5 years of total evidence to the contrary

Wont be long before SKS is emulating 'Prime Minister' Kinnock's 1992 'victory rally' in Sheffield... just days before the Election... :ROFLMAO:

But for this would we have got Tony Blair?

History proved it was the best election to lose.

One thing I hope SKS addresses full on is the supermarket chains and their profiteering?

The Ukraine and COVID 19 can only be responsible for limited price rises surely, but not the inflation busting ones we see week in week out?

there are 8 major supermarket chains, including Co-op and Waitrose with thier unconventional ownership. are you suggesting they are all colluding on food prices, as thats the only why to be profiteering. there has been food inflation across all Europe, >20% in some countries for periods, profiteering too? or yes, its down to Ukraine and covid money sloshing around.

That's putting up the price of all imported food, hammering the fishing industry, creating staffing shortages across the agriculture and food preparation businesses increasing all their costs, decimating the food export industry ?

Nope, no idea

Thank you for providing such a compelling argument, stuffed full with unarguable evidence and inexorable logic in your analysis. Given how simply brilliant this is, we'll all witness Labour's 20 point poll lead plummet overnight, and then we can all look forward to five more years of the incumbents.

Looks like the 'silent left' are starting to express themselves.

I'm looking forward to him going on TV and saying something interesting instead of the usual political guff and question avoiding. The labour MP on Politics Live yesterday, Darren Jones, explained their stance on public spending far better than SKS did and indeed spoke very well on all the other issues they discussed too. Put him in charge instead.
