Its a shitshow, but apparently before SJR rocked up, Man U had in excess of a thousand non-playing staff. The nearest to that in the EPL is Man City, who's non-playing staff is somewhere in the 500's.

Like it or not, players are (expensive) assets on the balance sheet. Margaret and Violet in laundry are not, so its a completely different set of parameters. Just the reality of a businessman streamlining what he's bought into, grubby though it is from the outside when you see the money they splurge on these overrated, overpaid wastrels.

Maybe Big Jim could give Musk a call, once the Tesla Twunt has finished sacking half the US government employees for not being racist enough in the name of efficiency.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe believes his decision to cut about 200 more jobs at Manchester United is necessary to help the club avoid going bust

Here's an idea Jim: stop buying shit players and whacking them on enormous wages.

Or better yet: keep doing that because it's hilarious watching United fail, year after year after year after year.

There is ZERO chance of Man United going bust. If much smaller clubs like Exeter City, Luton Town and Crystal Palace can rattle the tins and miraculously rustle up a buyer every time they find themselves staring into the financial abyss, then there is sure as hell going to be a lengthy queue of oligarchs, sheikhs and hedge fund shysters just itching to get their hands on a massive vanity project/ sportswashing opportunity like United.

This is just Ratcliffe attempting to justify his methods and get the excuses in place for their dismal performances on the pitch. It's not my fault, guv! The club was a mess when I got here!

Annoyingly, he is probably right to get rid of these people, even though it looks so poor when they are paying players so much.

But that's why they've mugged off Rashford and are trying to get Casemiro out the door. There was talk that the signing, Dorgu, the lowest paid player in the dressing room. They're trending towards sacking off the "wastrels" (Copyright @Easy 10 ) but it takes time because those contracts are enormous, hilarious and financially catastrophic. They will sell anyone that anyone shows any interest in next summer and take financial hits left, right and centre to get them out.

The danger for Man Utd is keeping a team good enough to challenge for European places, in order to attract the standard of player needed to push back up to the top 4 and beyond. I'm sure they'll be fine because there will always be money in the pocket somewhere.

I'm looking forward to the players reactions when they are told they need to take their own training and match day kits home, and wash them themselves, because the laundry staff have all been sacked.

"Right...whose turn was it last week? What did we say about not putting the white shorts in the same wash as the red shirts? And why are we missing three socks? Come on, check your kitbags. Who left socks in their bag? Lads?".

‘sake. Sounds like my house when I get home from running my U14s training session on a Thursday evening.

Dining room radiators draped in gently steaming training bibs, whilst I methodically upload photos of all the abandoned trackie tops and coats I’ve spent 20 minutes dutifully scooping up off the 3G and putting in the kit bag at the conclusion of training, so the parents can identify and claim the various ‘lost and found’ items.

Every. f***ing. Week

Can’t see Ruben Amorim putting up with that shit for long.

Just far enough away from LDC
Can’t see Ruben Amorim putting up with that shit for long
But he no longer has Mrs Rashford whatsapping 30mins before kick off to say Marcus has a sniffle and can't play. Or Harry Maguire's sister wanting to know why he isn't playing up front.

Or to say that Greenwood has been naughty and is grounded so sorry if that leaves the team short but he has to learn!

In a related Guardian article in goes into some detail about INEOS’s other ‘issues’.
Their level of borrowing is now at £10bn and the credit agencies have downgraded their debt meaning that any more investment will cost them more due to higher interest rates on the debt.
INEOs have fallen out with Ben Ainslie and are now in a legal dispute with New Zealand rugby due to alleged non payment of sponsorship payments.
The following is just my assumption; I would think that SJR is looking to make cut backs across all his companies but I can’t see where the investment will come for the new stadium as any hint of public money going towards the stadium build will be challenged. Yes, the infrastructure for the surrounding area may be supported by the Government but what about the estimated stadium build cost of £1bn when INEOS’s borrowing costs have just increased?
They also own a 1/3rd of the Mercedes Benz F1 team as well.
