He and Brailsford are a pair of cockjugglingthundercunts. Hope their ‘project’ crashes and burns spectacularly.
Irony is, I was all for the Glazers selling Ratcliffe 25% of an EPL club rather than selling it to the Saudis - many of whom were sniffing around - I don’t care about Manure but less sportwashing money in English football the better imo.

But like you say …%#£&@!”£&!#

( although at least Ratcliffe doesn’t have thousands of dead migrant workers to explain I suppose 🤔)

It was always going to happen unfortunately, TBH the worst thing in that article is that Elon Musk isn’t bidding, given his success with businesses that could have been amazing

Ratcliffe has reportedly put Nice up for sale (this will resolve Ratcliffe’s dual ownership UEFA competition issues) but more importantly for us, maybe indicate he will buy out Glazers controlling share at some point (the Glazers who’ve never spent any money of the Club) which will be a lot more capital investment and operating finances for Man U. Can see them being very tough for us to beat in a season or two’s time and yep, likely more UAE/Saudi money coming into top flight football (Ligue 1). ☹️

Ratcliffe will get a transition time to allow both Nice and Man U to compete in next season’s Europa so he’s not under pressure to sell too quickly

This was always going to happen at some stage, just like with Chelsea, they were never going to stay a basketcase club for long once someone semi-competent came in. It's been fun the last few years beating them convincingly, but their resources vastly outweigh ours, so I expect them to be back up there. Thing is there's only three domestic and one European trophy for them to go for every year. The way Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and new money Newcastle are coming into it, plenty of those clubs are going to be disappointed each season.

The only real winners out of this will be the Glazers, their personal big cash cow will go from strength to strength.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe believes his decision to cut about 200 more jobs at Manchester United is necessary to help the club avoid going bust

Here's an idea Jim: stop buying shit players and whacking them on enormous wages.

Or better yet: keep doing that because it's hilarious watching United fail, year after year after year after year.

When he says going bust, does he mean going bust, or failing on the PSR?

Surely they aren't going to go bust? It's just a bit of drama to avoid fan anger

But then on the other hand, it's not like Ratcliffe or the Glazers are going to put in one penny from their pockets

I’m old enough to remember united fans thinking this bloke was going to be their saviour.

Maybe he will be in the long run if the books are that bad, but they aren’t happy!

So let's say 200 people are on an average of 50k (who knows). That's 10m a year saved. You would imagine the average would be lower than that so an even smaller saving

Casemiro is paid 23m a year with bonuses

Over the next 4 years they have a financial commitment to Mount, Casemiro, and Zirkzee of something like 118m

I think I've found the area to target

They’ve been consistently dogshit at recruitment for over a decade at least.

Time after time they’ve wrested players that nobody else wanted away from their previous clubs, paying them money that no other club would have dreamt of offering. I guess you can only do that for so long before there’s nothing left in the coffers.

(Especially when your majority owners wouldn’t dream of putting their hands in their own pockets)

So they've got Rashford and Anthony off the wage bill plus others but still need to get 200 low paid staff off? And when they sell them both and others, they will get millions. Doesn't seem right.

Indeed. And I think your estimation is also on the high side. That seems a lot of people on the non playing side on a decent wage of £50k.

Plus you've got to pay them redundancy. Plus you've got to re recruit when in a month you realise you're desperate for someone to do the job they were doing

In a related Guardian article in goes into some detail about INEOS’s other ‘issues’.
Their level of borrowing is now at £10bn and the credit agencies have downgraded their debt meaning that any more investment will cost them more due to higher interest rates on the debt.
INEOs have fallen out with Ben Ainslie and are now in a legal dispute with New Zealand rugby due to alleged non payment of sponsorship payments.
The following is just my assumption; I would think that SJR is looking to make cut backs across all his companies but I can’t see where the investment will come for the new stadium as any hint of public money going towards the stadium build will be challenged. Yes, the infrastructure for the surrounding area may be supported by the Government but what about the estimated stadium build cost of £1bn when INEOS’s borrowing costs have just increased?
