Although you can’t question Beckham’s passion for English football he has already hinted he may apply for US citizenship. LA Galaxy will not start playing again until next March so he can spend time in the UK but I think he will spend increasingly more time in the US even if he doesn’t apply for citizenship. He likes the lifestyle and the easy money in the US and he can be with all his new Hollywood buddies.

There are a lot of benefits to being a citizen of the country that you live in full time, I am going through the same process, but without giving up my English passport or heritage, purely for the benefits that my family will get from me being a citizen rather than just a green card holder.
