Interesting responses on this thread. I'm going to play devil's advocate (not to be an arse but out of genuine curiosity for the answer) and ask what would people's responses be to, let's say Lewis Dunk, pulling out of the FA Cup Final 20 minutes in after a poor start for the Albion, to protect his mental health? Or if Harry Kane had done so in the Euro 2020 final for England? Would we be as quick to praise them (especially in the case of defeat) for putting their mental health above all else? Pundits regularly talk about teams having to rely on their big players to step up and be counted in the high pressure moments. Where would pulling out midway through a sporting event fit within that mantra?
The ace up the sleeve?
A couple of real tossers on this thread and you are one of them
'Nobody knows... except that I think I do'
Not sure if you've done any background reading, but if you have you'll understand that whie we may not 'know', there's not exactly any shortage of reasons to believe what she says. Not least the fact that it would have been far far easier (avoiding the attention seeking comments and sneers from the likes of you and Piers Morgan) to have blamed her lack of form on something else.
But in your mind it's her being a brat
Righto
Bozza - we need the old 'thumbs down' back.......
To be honest, we just need vile old posters to bugger off. They are relentless in their idiocy and nastiness. There will be a few more along in a minute.
I know, it's almost as surprising as certain NSC regulars cropping up in this thread to have a go at the same successful, talented, young black woman.
Brat-ism? Please could you expand on that?
Why is that Dazza, to show aggression towards posters with differing opinions, it would be very negative and could even cause mental health issues, as we are on the subject.

Thanks for the uncalled for name-calling. Just a differing point of view.
it.

Should we all agree then
Maybe, but would she really want to say because of her lack of preparation she's not on her A-game. I'm not sure the person left behind in the states would like to hear that one. As she effectively throws away someone elses dream.
I hadn't even known Morgan was copying my stance on this one, what a cheeky b**ger.

Personally I think this board has become a much nicer place since Bozza removed the thumbs down option - and I hope it never comes back. It could get really unpleasant at times - a right old witch hunt; we're better off without it.Thumbs Down = aggression
Thumbs Down would be simply to save me typing 'I disagree with your post' - which is precisely what you're suggesting (a difference of view)

There's really no problem with posting that you disagree, is there.

Rather than a bland 'I disagree with your post', I thought I'd lighten it a bit by saying I'd like a thumbs down - expressing my disagreement, no ? Instead of a number against a thumb (largely ignored by most I would think), Mouldy gets the opportunity to quote and rant at a load of comments instead. Yes, much more pleasant
Bile could of course just not be on her A-game due to lack of respect to her competitors around her as she has been so much on top of the world and realised she was in for a kicking
I just hope it isn't a form of brat-ism.
No one will truly know, only her, let's home she finds top gear again, whether it be mentally or physically, or more and likely both.
Don't you know how bullies work? There are around ten posters whose primary role on NSC is to introduce racist and related tropes. With the thumbs down button they would all be at it, thumbs downing the people who call them out. I know several decent posters who are already so demoralised by the relentless tide of cretinous trash from these people, including covid denial, that one has recently quit NSC and others are close. You are advocating the US solution to ****wittery here - give everyone a gun. No thanks.

Fair question to ask....didn't we possibly have this with Maupay after he missed a penalty ? Didn't seem to be a physical injury and I can't recall any reports of one post-match.
I've had a v close family member take their own life, another that had very serious MH issues (not going into detail on here) and had to deal with a number of situations at work (including the suicide - through clinical depression - of a former boss who became a pal). Clearly none of these are in a sporting context, but an individual's profession has no real relevance to propensity to suffer from MH issues - Dunk, Kane or anyone else would get my 100% support.
Extending your question, I wonder if Morgan would have called out Kane in the same way he's done so to Biles ?
