I can never understand why TS give him a platform? He was in charge when they acted all Mafioso like and he and his henchmen threatened Mike 'Porky' Parry about 10 years back. The guy is a k**b of the highest highest highest order.......

All must be well forgiven by now - Porky did a show with just him and Jordan a few weeks back and they got on well.

The comparison below (trying to match up our closest equivalent) doesn't reflect well on their performance.

Sakho £26m Duffy £3.5m (first choice centre back)
Ridewald £7m Goldson £0.5m? (young back up defender)
Townsend £13m Knockaert £2m (second most valuable winger after Zaha/Izquierdo)
Tomkins £10m Dunk - from academy (first choice centre back)
Benteke £27m Murray £3m (first choice 'big man up top')
Milvojevic £12m Stephens £1m (engine room)
Schlupp £12m Bong - free agent (first choice left back)
Van Aarnholt £9m Suttner £1.5m (second choice left back)
Cabaye £10m Gross £1.5m ('number ten')
Wickham £7m Hemed £1.5m (second choice 'big man up top')

For all our recent threads congratulating our recruitment team on their recent efforts, their Palace counterparts have been a bit of a shambles, in regards to spotting value.

Some of those valuations for our team are way out. Stuttner was at least 3 million and up. Gross was nearly 4 million. Stephens around 700k. Thought Hemed was less than a million. Duffy over 4 million

Gross and Suttner were (as with most of our recent business) 'undisclosed' so we can't be quite sure. Regardless, lets use your figures - they take the Albion total spend across that list, up by £3.7m, to £18m. This compares with Palace's £133m on the like-for-like equivalents.

Gross was a transfer record at the time. That is more than CMS

He wasn't. It was rumoured to be £2.7m which is a chunk less than we paid for Shane Duffy a season earlier.

(it was a record transfer OUT for Ingolstadt though.)

The word you are looking for is 'bungle*****'.

Oh FFS the fun police have added that to the swear filter list. The plural of the c word has been edited out.

It just goes to show when you’re in the PL you have to pay a heck of a lot for not very much.

Dont agree exile is right, Palace have spunked tons for very little return.Ive had the same shtick from Palace fans about slowly building up the squad season after season, what they forget is one crap manager or injury crisis and all that can go to pot(they have managed both). We are mid table on a budget, thats a mark of class, as is the amount spent by Leicester to win the title, for example. Palace lose a player and they fall to bits. How many goals has Benteke scored this season?

Full credit to CH and the team on what they acheived but Palace have a LOT of questions to answer on and of the pitch.
