Signed and Framed Albion Shirt, being auctioned for great cause. Please read.

Advice please.

I am attending a charity fundraising dinner tonight at which one of the "Silent Auction" items is an Albion away shirt ("Skint" Yellow) signed by the 2004-2005 Squad. It is in excellent condition and has been very nicely mounted and framed (black wood frame and glass front).

There will not be many, if any, other Albion fans present tonight and I am concerned this item will go relatively unbid. I will bid myself but can't afford to bid what it should really go for.

The charity in question is extremely deserving of support (http://www.benmcnicoltrust.com). The McNicol family had 3 young sons and tragically have lost two of them to illness.

Is there anyone on here willing to provide any sort of bid that I could make on your behalf? I am very happy to deliver the item to any address in Sussex. It would be great to be able to bid tonight on behalf of "a Brighton supporter" or "NorthStandChat".

ps... I have no idea what this is "worth" in real terms.. I'm guessing around £50 - is that roughly correct?

Obviously for charitable donations people are often happy to pay more than something is worth.

That is great! Thank you very much. That is exactly the sort of "underpinning" response I was hoping for - can anyone do a bit more though...?

Unfortunately I don't have a picture. The shirt is nicely signed in black pen by what looks like the whole squad - obviously done quite carefully to create a memorabilia item.

Wow! HKFC that is a fantastic gesture - thank you very much. Some more "NSC Friday afternoon love" would be absolutely amazing.

Brilliant to be able to go along tonight with news for the parents that Albion fans have made a donation to the trust. (Ben McNicol loved playing football and his brother is also very keen - as a treat he was recently a mascot at The Amex...).

For those that can afford to, a couple of clicks and the price of a couple of pints would be a great donation..

Please people do consider a bid or donation. The aim of the trust is to help families from Sussex who find themselves in the desperately sad and exhausting situation of needing to regularly visit London to get treatment for very sick children.

Ben McNicol was born on 17th September 2005 in London . He was diagnosed with a brain tumour on December 23rd 2011 . He underwent surgery at King’s College Hospital which was successful . He subsequently had 6 weeks of radiotherapy at the Royal Marsden Hospital before commencing chemotherapy . Despite a good initial prognosis Ben’s tumour returned and he tragically died on May 26th 2012 .

The Ben McNicol Trust is being established to make life that little bit easier for children and their families . We hope to be able to purchase a property that families can stay in during treatment. We hope also to be able to provide short term accommodation for families close to specialist centres to make the travelling and getting to appointments easier

The purpose of the Ben McNicol trust is to help children who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families . Treatment is often difficult and long and it sometimes involves spending a significant time away from home .

Ben’s House – the initial goal is to raise enough money to purchase a property where families can stay during their treatment with all the home comforts , making time away from home as easy as possible . It is envisaged that this will be in close proximity to The Royal Marsden Hospital Sutton site , a specialist cancer centre in the South East of England .

Children often need to arrive at hospital first thing in the morning for tests and treatment . It is often helpful to be able to stay somewhere the night before in order to avoid a very early start for children travelling some distance . We would hope to be able to fund overnight hotel costs for families in this position or accommodate them in Ben’s House if this was available .

I bought a signed shirt from the Albion auction about 10 years ago, the framing alone cost me £50, I would hope that it fetches closer to £100. Can't afford to bid myself at the moment but will happily donate £10 using the link from Hans Kraay fan club. Good luck at the auction really hope it gets a few decent bids.

04/05 was the season we stayed up in the Championship with McGhee. There was some good matches including the Butters header at Upton Park to beat West Ham. Virgo playing up front and winning at Leicester.
