A boycott of FIFA's sponsors may have an effect if it was supported. I never eat McD's anyway and certainly will have no problem boycotting budweiser, coz it's piss!

It would if all football fans around the World joined in...there are billions of us.

I promise never to eat another McDonald's or drink a bottle of Budweiser. Is anyone else willing to join me?

Judging by several comments from various candidates they suggest it was indeed the media. Cover up for corruption or not I still wonder why some on this thread don't put any blame on the media and seem to accept their depressinlgy unpatriotic ways. Says a lot really.

If someone says something, does that make it true? It would save a lot of expense in having criminal trials - we'd simply ask the defendant if he was guilty and if he said no, we'd let him go: save a fortune

The media reports are wonderfully convenient excuse, would you really expect them to say "We didn't give it to England because they didn't grease our palms enough"?

Most people don't blame the media because a) the press reports had zero effect - we were never going to get it anyway and b) most people are sick of the way that FIFA bigwigs are too keen to stick their noses in the trough and are pleased to see someone stick it to them.

Errr ..... because it's not unpatriotic to root out corruption and scum bag criminals in FIFA. How far do you bow down to that corruption to get a world cup before you say enough is enough ?

Andy Anson saying we might as well not bid all the time FIFA deal with it the way they do which is what 'Panorama' was saying. Therefore, it seems clear that we were never going to get it; 'Panorama' just made up a few people on the council's mind for them.
