Absolutely not. He can knuckle down and finish the job of promotion just like the rest of the squad for the remainder of the season.

If he's as good as we're all believing, Premiership teams not Championship ones will be in for him in the summer for a lot more money than what's currently been offered. We'll have more time to line up a proven replacement then. And the player would have the chance to play in the Premiership next season which is no guarantee with a move to Norwich.

With automatic promotion by no means currently secured, now is definitely the time for Tony to know when to hold 'em.

He must stay until the summer at least. I really believe, with everything he's got in him footballing armoury, we should be looking at £2 plus for him and a substantial sell-on clause. (Oxlade Chamberlain at £8m - go figure).

We are under no pressure to sell. He is under a long contract. And actually, that gives the power to us.

It's a shame he doesn't want too see the job through and especially galling after he has stated how much he loves the club and the area in the past. He's let us and his team mates down.

Reckon we'll get a few clubs in for him at that price

Sorry

They should tell him to poke it, get his head down and honour his contract and they'll re-assess in the summer.

NO!

He is under contract and that is it.

Consider offers in the summer depending on where we are. If in the Championship there will be a considerable influx and exit of players out of contract and not up to the mark.

It's Norwich we're talking about here.

Didn't we used to beat them in Cup Quarter-Finals?

We've got a bright future ahead and should be a subservient feeder team to no-one.

I'm in the YES Camp why? because i've always firmly believed that if a player wants out then you let him go (for a decent price in trhis case), keeping players againt their will wont do their confidence o the teams morale anygood, we should have players who are 100% commited to BHA.
Of course if the offer is WEAK then keep him.

No. He has a contract, his partner works at the club. From what I have heard he has been very unsure about what to do (despite Norwich apparently offering a £6k a week pay rise) because he feels he would be letting us down and breaking his contract. So, Elliott, don't let us down, stay for the rest of the season, play your guts out for the Albion and go to Norwich in the summer if you still think they are a better bet than us (or the money is too good to turn down) But remember, if Norwich do go up, you might be sitting on the bench next season instead of walking out at Falmer as an Albion hero :)

Littlehampton,Wick actually
imo,Norwich are punching above themselves being near top of Championship anyway, imo, they wont go up,they will settle to being an average Champioship side in seasons after,so ££££ is only reason EB would go,and if its less than 2mil,why should we sell him, seeing he just signed new contract?

But Shelvey is playing in the Premier League for an (albeit struggling) 'big four' club - in the league and in the final stages of Europe League and he is younger and only cost £1.7m. I think a lot of people on here might be very, very disappointed with what the actual figure is.

He stays. Tell him he can leave in the summer and that if he had put in a transfer request at the begiining of January it might have been accepted. The fact that he has left it so late gives the club no time to replace him. Simples.

Sign a psychologist.

And a hypnotist that can explain that Norwich is just a hick town in the wilds of Anglia and when did Norwich last get to an FA Cup Final?

No. Bennett comes over as a sensible lad. If Norwich want him - they will still want him in the summer. Play well for us - and see how the land lies in the summer. He does not seem the kind to throw his toys out.

Not sure they will if they go up.

No. Bennett seems to be the sort of player that will not drop his game if he doesn't necessarily get his demands. Promotion is worth a lot to us and our bid would be severely hampered if we sold him.

If Norwich are offering 6K a week more, can't we just bung Elliot 150K to compensate for the rest of the season, and then tell him he can go in the summer?? Would be a lot cheaper than getting a replacement.

I'm not sure that would do much to the harmony of the squad and our bank balance. Certainly considering we have a lot of key players out of contract at the end of the season!

Did Charlton have to pay a sell on clause to anyone when they let him go? Charlton are in the shit financially so let him go on the 'cheap'. Austin has just gone to Championship side Ipswich for £2 million. Bennett is worth at least £1.5 million and arguably much more if he progresses. We won't sell below £1.5 million, in fact we won't sell him in this window. :)
