Most of the teams in the PL are like us, never likely to finish top four often in danger of relegation or just always mid table. The only exception that comes to mind is Leicester.

Unless you have any stats to suggest it, I don't see any team like us losing fans in the medium or long term so why do you think we will? Of course some fans will get bored or drop out but others will replace them. That's life.

Statistically, we've gone from an 8k waiting list to having none and only a 90% renewal on top of a previous 90% renewal, leaving us with (if the number posted on another thread by Bold Seagull was accurate) c21k STHs or 2000 fewer than when the capacity first went to 30k.

Anecdotally my mate's 15 year old son is bored with football and we've not renewed his season ticket. Another mate didn't take his 9yo yesterday because he doesn't want him getting too downhearted.

Many kids will have fallen out of love with going to football during lockdown / BCD football and many families will be struggling with budget in these uncertain times. We're not exactly helping them to prioritise the Amex towards the top of things to be kept.

Anecdotally again, did you see how many empty seats there were yesterday for a Category A game on a Saturday? Shitloads. If we want to improve the atmosphere we have to fill those seats but you'll never get the statistical facts from the club because we only publish the pretendence. We have to use our eyes.

The Liverpool game is always the biggest attendance.

Not yesterday, blue seat gaps everywhere.

The guy next to me bought on the exchange yesterday morning (I put my son’s ticket on it on Friday, he’s away at uni). He said he was surprised at how many seats were available, it was take your pick.

Next season’s renewal will see the real financial shakedown. Domestic gas/elec bills likely rising to £4,100 on 1 October according to Martin Lewis.

It’s funny how many of the comments on here have ended up being of a personal nature, questioning Graham Potters ability to manage due to his demeanour.

As a reminder to our many needy fans, this article from The Standard, was dated March 7th 2021, and concerned yesterday’s opponents and their disastrous run of 6 home league defeats in a row.

Fortunately for Klopp, the Liverpool board had the sense to know that sometimes things don’t quite go to plan, and if you have belief in your manager’s abilities, they will, in time, turn things round.

Unfortunately, I don’t think we have the current fan base to understand this...

So you're saying that the 91% on this poll voting Potter In and the ones in the ground yesterday chanting "Graham Potter's Blue and White Army" are............wrong?

I wouldn't be surprised if Potter was thinking of leaving if an appropriate opportunity came along due to the failure of Bloom to provide him with the necessary tools to compete for a top 10 PL place maybe resulting in a feeling that he's taken the club as far as he can on the current resources.

Who could blame him?

I had intended to post my reply as a direct response to a couple of the more negative posts on here, but felt that I didn’t want to single out individuals... clearly that stance has backfired on me :lolol:

I am delighted to see the overwhelming support Graham Potter has received in the poll, but fear that the 9% are the noisy minority, who can quickly upset the Apple cart!

Big difference being Klopp had the budget to acquire players to make his style work.

I've no doubt GP could make us top ten if he had more money and subsequently better players.

I do think Potter or someone else could do better than GP currently is, but that would be a change of style and we have seen continually GP is not prepared/capable of abandoning his ideals.

My son's not interested, I've lost interest, my wife is similar, the Amex last few times we've bothered wasn't such a great day out.

I don’t think many of those people are seriously suggesting sacking the manager because of his demeanor. There is an element of gallows humour because of results. Potter has overwhelming support amongst the BHA fanbase and I am sure he can cope with a few jokes about his fancy new look and interview style. In some way the gentle ribbing is people letting off steam instead of calling for his head.

I so hope you’re right, I think we are a couple of key elements away from being a VERY good side. It would be a shame to throw it all away in a short term desperate need for a Top 10 finish...

.

This season we’ve sold more season tickets than ever before (24K due to the increased capacity) and have a sold out 1901 for the third 5 year lease.

Next season we’ve already sold 21,400 (90% of 24K). Last season it was 92% . It’s at the lower end of renewals over the last 10 years but probably higher than anyone predicted and despite everything pretty normal in terms of turnover. . We don’t know how many more will sell this summer but assuming it’s PL football next season you’d expect that to tick up to something close to 24K again even with cost of living impact.

Perhaps they don’t know what they’re letting themselves in for but it’s really hard to look at ticket sales and argue that especially post Covid - that they’re not extremely resilient or that they reflect any - fill in as required - grievance with the club.
I’m surprised they’ve not taken more of a hit tbh.

Actual attendance inside the ground is another issue but you’d assume that the persistent no shows are part of that 10% who have cancelled.

But surely making a team greater than the sum of its parts is way more worthwhile. I don’t see the point in supporting the likes of Liverpool and simply throwing money around to buy success. We have spent money but only to bring us up to the minimum standard required to stay in the league. Anything else is down to the coaching. That’s a good thing.

Yes, and you could argue that Leicester’s win was much down to the good fortune of them getting hold of a multi million pound striker for peanuts. More luck than judgement in terms of just how good Vardy turned out to be. Good luck to them but the chances of teams like them, or us, getting hold of such players are limited.

If Potter doesn’t have the tools then what the feck did CH have? Interesting fact CH wanted to sign Luiz Diaz in the summer unfortunately he got sacked.

CH had Glenn Murray when he could still run a bit. If GP had the Murray of 2017-18 we would be challenging the top six.

Yes. I love all those stats so I’d find it interesting but I guess most fans couldn’t care less. Buts let’s say they did publish both figures. What do you hope might happen if they did ? (Club already know so presumably look at that and try and fix it . No benefit to them of having season ticket holders who don’t go or an emptier ground than necessary)

No he shouldn’t.

But I do think things have gone a bit stale on and off the pitch which has led to a general malaise around the club and ground at the moment.

Personally I would like to see a bit of a squad refresh in the summer which I think will help everybody and generate a bit more excitement around the place and give the coaching staff more to work with.

For differing reasons I would look to move on Bissouma, Trossard, Welbeck, Gross and Duffy this summer and bring in 4/5 ready for the first team new faces.

The 4/5 to include some with exceptional pace in attack.

There will be a lot more empty seats on Wednesday.

My 7 year old wanted to read the program in the second half!

However I look at as an important life lesson in realism and disappointment but equally being grateful for what you have!
