The guy I replied to asked for statistics. I gave him some numbers and some anecdotal stories because, for some strange reason, the club don't seem keen on releasing the actual attendance.

Look round the ground on Wednesday (or rewatch last night's MotD) and you'll see gaps everywhere. Every empty seat is a person not singing or cheering and not buying merch. That'll be a FACTOID.

b) Emotional rollercoaster types - are in ecstasy after EPL wins for literally days afterwards, feel the pain after defeats, bored by zero Albion goals, 4 or 5 hour treks out to see home losses/draws really grate over time, generally loath opposition players/fans with a passion and hate them celebrating in our stadium.

I envy (a), but for my sins essentially I'm a (b).

Not sure about that. Central defence looks as vulnerable as it’s been for years - maybe one of the loanees will step up, but that’s a punt.
Midfield looks stale atm, and will be weakened if Bissouma moves.
At the the very least Sanchez needs proper competition.
And the old classic - striker.
Of course we do have some talented players and things might look different in a few games - that’s how football works - but right now the whole squad looks like it wants freshening up.

True. I didn’t read the small print. I’m with you mainly on the loathing of opposition players. I would much rather watch as beat Accrington than lose to Liverpool. I was genuinely bored watching (on tv) yesterday and glad we didn’t make the trip. I’m probably not in all honesty on much of an emotional roller coaster with wins/defeats as it’s the day out supporting my team that I enjoy most. I did have a big health scare recently and although I’ve always been quite placid you’re right it does change things quite a lot.

You are 100 % correct and it’s kind of you to notice and comment. For me NSC should be a positive environment as life is too short for it to be anything else. I enjoy the debate but not the acrimony. I’m still a b) though as I would never clap Steven Gerard (*runs for cover…).

(Obviously) I think: nope.

Brighton have a squad that should end up 12-15 in the league. If the club had spent a lot of cash in the summer and January to improve and strengthen the team I would have understood calls to sack GP, however that was not the case and - as usual - the results are a consequence of a lack of quality in the squad, quite simple. Its great to have a top 10 aim but its not going to happen with the current squad regardless of manager.

Regardless if TB decides to keep Potter or sack him at the end of the season (which isnt impossible) the next transfer window is going to reveal a lot about the direction of the club. During GPs years the squad has never been as thin as it is now and for a lot of time it has been obvious that certain areas are just straight up weak quality wise compared to most PL teams. There is a fair amount of promising youngsters in the club, but if the club really wants to show some teeth 3-4 Cucurealleseque signings in various positions needs to be made in the summer or you'll have a similar story next season - with or without GP.
